“Favorite Breakfast in SLC”

Roula's is a great place to have breakfast in SLC. The staff was super friendly and helpful in recommending some of their signature breakfast burritos. The food is excellent and the restaurant has some cool decor!! Will definitely stop by again next time we're in SLC!!

“Stingy!”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

We were very curious to try Roula's having passed by their downtown location many times. So when we saw a Groupon we decided to give it a try. Their hours are so awkward it took a while for us to get there when they were actually open, but on a Monday afternoon it finally happened. We were offered the special of the day, beef enchiladas, which were visibly burnt (over $8.00). Instead we went with some of their Greek entrees which were generally good besides a dry pork soulvaki. We were informed that we should park in a nearby parking garage but were later refused validation because after the Groupon we didn't spend at least $10. (one of the servers handed me a validation ticket which was immediately taken from me after the manager learned I had received it!) Are you kidding me? So by following their instruction, we ended up paying for parking. We were also told that if we wanted to use a card to pay for our meal, which was less than $6 after the Groupon, that we would be charged a 50 cent transaction fee, thankfully we had cash on us. Then filling up our drink we noticed a note on the soda machine which stated that any refill of their 32 oz. drink containers required a charge somewhere over a dollar. Between their weird hours and miscellaneous charges it's definitely not worth the effort.

“Pleasant Surprise”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

We traveled to a couple of states on our trip and ate at several breakfast places, and Roula's by far had the best breakfast food we tried. I got the Roula's classic which had more than enough food - eggs, meat, hash browns, and toast. My husband got the breakfast burrito, which was delicious, but so big that he couldn't finish it. The staff was very friendly too. If you go on a Friday, you get a free cookie! I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast.

“Narrow menus, OK breakfast”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

No nearby free parking, so we waited for a convenient time when we were already downtown to try this Greek-owned diner-style restaurant in a downtown office building. We went for breakfast, and I think the lunches must be better. Orders are placed and paid at the counter, and the food is delivered to the comfortable tables. Follow-up attention at the table was good.

Available breakfasts are essentially eggs and meats, and portions are large. The bacon is fresh and cooked to order, but the ham was strictly super-thin-sliced deli ham and the sausage appeared to be of the "heat-and-serve" variety. The hashbrowns are nicely cooked, but are the previously frozen variety. The eggs were perfectly prepared and the breakfasts, on the whole, were pretty good.

I suspect where this place really shines would be the lunch menu, and specifically the Greek items such as souvlaki. We'll go back some day to give that a try.
