You can see the overlook of the city. The best time to go here is like 30 mins before the sunset... read more
Hike is short, but steep, so it's tougher than you think it would be. The views are great from the top and the plaques are interesting to read for historical information. We stopped up to view the sunset and were not disappointed.
I decided to hike this on my last day in SLC. It was a bit warm that day, but with water both me and my pup had no problems. I was a bit confused with the path because there were arrows but no writing to indicate which path you were taking. Very friendly fellow hikers directed me to the "vista mount" where you can look at the history of everything before going to the other side to hike to the top. It's a gorgeous view. Worth the hike and great for pets. Loved it! Make sure you're wear clothes you don't mind get a bit dusty as it is a mountain!
Great hike of less than a mile one way for wonderful views -- but steep. Short paved trail also available for the less adventurous. Don't miss the short paved walk on the other side of the road with new interesting plaques about the area. Nice benches in the shade there too.
with perfect weather and an amazing sunset, it was so much fun to take the short hike up to ensign peak. What a stunning view of the city and the mountains!!
Simple hike on dirt gravel with a gorgeous city view when you get to the top of the mountain.
There are different ways to get to this trail, we didn't know that when we first started to explore this trail so we walked through the residential way and got to see some lavish homes along the way to get to the start of this trail.
It's a pretty easy one but there is incline but not too much if your in decent shape.
Downside- there are no public bathrooms so make sure you account for this when you start your journey and there's no much of a hangout area when you get to the peak. So make sure you know there's no comfy place to sit on top.
This is a straightforward hike and simple. It's a great trail to practice your hiking steps or if you want a light incline walk. I would recommend this trail!
This is a great short climb if you're looking to get out of the car for some fresh air and nice views of the area. Some spots are a little tricky, so this hike is definitely in the moderate range.
