You can see the overlook of the city. The best time to go here is like 30 mins before the sunset... read more
I wish we had timed our visit a little better and tried to get there at sunset, I am sure it would have been better, but the views were great of the city.
The walk was not a bad one, but I must say my breath was a little harder to get since I live at sea level.
It is worth the walk/hike.
Easy hike, but if you're from east of the Mississippi (like me), the elevation will hit you quickly. Nothing too bad though, if you're in reasonable shape. It's only .47 miles to the top. I started the hike at 8:45 am on a Tuesday and was the only person on the trail - once I reached the summit (20 min later), I was the only one there for about 15 minutes. You definitely want to go early, wear a hat and sunscreen, and bring water (I cannot recommend a Camelbak backpack enough) -- as everyone mentioned -- there is no shade.
The views along the trail AND at the top are super rewarding. The trail is well-marked. It's a good quick hike - especially for being so close to the city. I'm recommending this to all my friends traveling to the area - more people should know about this!
I took an Uber to the trailhead, very easy. There is street parking there if you have a rental.
Stunning views of Salt Lake and the surrounding areas! Easy hike for little legs or those a little less steady on their feet. Not a long hike and very steady/easy walking surface.
This does have good elevations but is a pretty easy climb. Great views of the city, mountains and lakes.
This hike is pretty quick and a moderate challenge (my 70+ year old parents made it with a few breaks) and the view from the top lets you take in the whole Salt Lake valley to the south, as well as the Salt Lake itself to the west.
Very short and easy hike leading to a beautiful view over the SLC and surrounding areas. Great for kids, elder, anyone you can think of!
