You can see the overlook of the city. The best time to go here is like 30 mins before the sunset... read more
There are two different viewing areas. We went as a family--my husband, myself, and our 4 kids. We all hiked up to the lower viewing area and then my husband and boys hiked up to the higher viewing area. It is well worth a stop, even if you do just the lower hike. Great view of the city!
We took this hike with several small kids-3 & under. The views are amazing and the signs provide a good history lesson for the Utah area.
Short, somewhat steep hike from a nearby parking lot. Really good view of the Salt Lake Valley. For those with Mormon pioneer heritage, it's a must-see stop. Children make it up with a few stops for rest. Trail is reasonably well-maintained, although not paved, so flip-flops may present issues.
Mormon History is always involved in Utah. If you enjoy history and beauty there is a great combination here. Go and enjoy.
A medium hard 20 min hike gets you to the peak. Very very nice view of SLC and the surrounding area. In summer would suggest to go about 1 he before sunset.
I am not a hiker at all but this was about 2 miles of an uphill challenge. my kids thought it was not too difficult. getting to the top (we went right before sunset) and looking down on the valley was breath taking. try to go early or late but I think the parking was restricted after 10pm because it's located in a neighborhood.
