I stay here quite often when in town -- mainly because I'm loyal to my Platinum status with Starwood, and some really CHEAP weekend rates ($79 usually). The rooms are remodeled and very nice (at least in the tower section). Many have balconies - which give you nice views and fresh air. Rooms on the North West side have unfortunate views of the State Liquor Store -- which is always surrounded by a sketchy crowd.
My main complaint is there isn't enough parking near the front of the hotel, so you often have to park incredibly far from your room. If you arrive late at night you'll be in the far back lot, which never seems all that well lit or safe to me.
Hotel lobby is quite spacious and there is a big gift shop and a Starbucks (which generally seems to be under-staffed and low on any pastries).
If you're looking for a clean, comfy, and often reasonably priced room and don't mind the parking -- then the Sheraton works. The price is usually quite a bit less than hotels just a couple blocks away.More
