“Centrally located.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2011

I stayed here for a convention in August. The hotel is centrally located to many of the sights in downtown Salt Lake City. The convention center is within a stone's throw and the TRAX system station is about 75 away. The distance from the airport to the hotel is about 20 minutes.

We ate dinner at the restaurant in the hotel, Copper Canyon and it was ok, but over priced. We did eat breakfast buffet which was very good, although over priced.

Our rooms were very clean and we had a great view. The room has Sleep Number beds which were very comfortable.

I left behind a shirt in the room and found out I did so when I arrived home and unpacked. I contacted the hotel and reported it to lost/found. They were very helpful, however I couldn't stress enough to them to check the room immediately to see if the shirt was still in the in room. My shirt is probably long gone.

Free Wi-fi is available throughout the hotel.

Anyways, I had a great experience with the hotel and would stay here again.

Very nice hotel. Clean, and quiet. Within walking distance of most attractions in Salt Lake City. Wasn't a big fan of the sleep number bed but that's just my opinion.

Thank you for your recent review. I apologize that you did not enjoy the Sleep Number Beds. We also have rooms without these beds, requesting one of these rooms on your next visit should increase your comfort level.

Hotel is located downtown neat area! Nice hotel. Beds are horrible, Sleep Number beds feels like you are on an air mattress woke up at 4:00 am with my back killing me! Based on the beds alone I would not return to this hotel.

Thank you for your review, we appreciate the feedback and would like to apologize for the uncomfortable night you experienced. Since you liked the hotel otherwise, and if you visit Downtown SLC again, you can reserve rooms without the Sleep Number Bed. Thanks for staying with us, and we hope to see you again!

First the good. Really convenient Downtown location with the Salt Palace (practically next door), the Temple, the Gateway mall, the EnergySolutions Arena and most other points Downtown. The staff was friendly and my check-in/check-out process was straight forward. Free wifi. They had a restaurant and bar, but I didn't try it, however they seemed to be doing good business. Great views of Downtown and the mountains from both sides of the property.

The not so good. My room seemed in need of updating. Although it had a flat screen TV, the decor looked rather old. The were some old stains on the walls and furnishings and the lever for the desk chair pneumatic lift was broken off. The latter caused me to cut my finger as I tried to operate it (the chair was in the way low position when I arrived). Not cool and obviously dangerous. On my second day late in the evening when I arrived back at my room and very exhausted, both my card keys were inoperable. I had to go back down (12 floors) and wait in line at the desk to get that sorted out. Not cool again.

Parking is $12 per day for self park with in/out privileges. This could be a bargain if there was a big convention and an event at the Areana but not in the slow summer weekend when I was there when free parking was found very easily around the hotel (lots of un-metered 2 hour free parking 8am-6pm Mon.-Sat.). Most properties just to the south of Downtown don't charge for parking, but those aren't exactly walking distance to the Salt Palace area.

Overall okay, but if the rates are comparable to the Hilton, Sheraton, Embassy Suites, Red Lion or Marriott (they frequently are), I'd go with one of them.

The bed was very comfortable, the tv was great, and the workout room was gorgeous. The people who work here were friendly and the internet (wireless) was free.

Very nice hotel. Sleep number beds are comfortable. Only a few minutes walk to Temple Square and other downtown locations.

You can park across street. Otherwise it's $12/day.
