We have stayed in several hotels/motels over the years, but by far this hotel has been the best stay that we have experienced for the money. The room was roomy and clean. The heating (temperature outside was around 15-35 most days) worked well and was easily adjusted. We were blessed with a corner room (we were given several options at check-in time) that had a very nice view. The windows had block out curtains, so you can sleep in and not be disturbed by the bright mornings (very bright out when the sun reflected off of the snow). The Breakfast was really good and had more than just the usual continental ones that we've experienced at other hotels. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay at or near the University of Utah. The close proximity to the University was well worth the money (under $100/night).

Room Tip: We liked our corner room on the first floor, which allowed us a nice view.

Our family of five -- two adults and three small children, including a baby -- stayed in a King Suite room during our trip to Salt Lake in July. The size of the room was wonderful for our family. The kids stayed in the pullout couch, the baby in a pack-and-play and we all had plenty of room. The hotel is in a nice area on the university campus close to the TRAX line, which the kids loved. We typically get a larger room since we travel with so many little ones and this room was great for our needs. Staff was very kind and helpful and the kids especially enjoyed the breakfast options. Great value for the price. We will stay here again.

Thank you for your review. I am glad to hear that you had a nice visit with the family. My kids love riding the TRAX line as well. It sounds like the King Suite worked for your family but just in case you need something a little bigger we have two King Suite Deluxe rooms which are quite a bit larger. The Deluxe has two bathrooms and has the option for an adjoining Double Queen room connecting to it. Thanks again.

We spent one week in this hotel and enjoyed Alta, Solitude, Brighton, Deer valley & Canyons ... All in less than 45'. People are very friendly and ready to help. With a room at less than 100$ including a (good) breakfast we had nothing to complain. Recommendation: ask for a room on the 3rd floor with a view on the mountain ... and enjoy!

Thank you for your review. Even though I am a little jealous of your ski trip and all the resorts you were able to visit, I am glad to hear that our hotel worked out for you. We hope to see you again.

The University Guest House was welcoming, comfortable and clean. It was as close as we could get to our meeting at the University. All staff were helpful, friendly and charming. A perfect hotel in Salt Lake City. It is on the TRAX line as well, so getting downtown is no problem. It is also close to the Natural History Museum and Zoo.

Very happy with our short stay here. The room was good, staff were friendly and the complimentary breakfast was fine. You can't really walk anywhere but the guesthouse offered free transport to and from a restaurant area and the TRAX Light Rail is only a short stroll away.
Overall we were very happy.

Thank you for your review. I enjoyed seeing the photo you took from your room looking at the Post Chapel. We do realize that our location may not be ideal for everyone. Hopefully our shuttle service is making things a little more convenient for our guests. Thank you again.
