We LOVED out four night stay at the Hyatt Place. Super friendly staff, immaculately clean lobby, elevators, room, pool and fitness room! The actual room was huge, just what we needed. The breakfast was great, having eggs, sausage, pancakes or French toast, bagels, fresh oatmeal, juices, milk, fruit, yogurt and I'm sure I missed a few things. The hotel was just a short walk to the SLC Trax system, one form of public transportation. But it's free to ride when in the downtown area, and it takes you past temple square, the city center with amazing shops and many more places. The hotel is also a short walk from the gateway center, which has additional amazing shops, and restaurants. It was easy to get to the hotel from I-15, and easy to park, etc. we will staying here when we come back to SLC. Good job Hyatt Place! You made our stay amazing.

We stayed at Hyatt Place Salt Lake City for two nights. It is a fairly typical Hyatt Place with a nice sitting room and very comfortable bed. When we checked in, we were given a corner room - which is much smaller that the standard Hyatt Place room (the sitting area was practically nonexistent and we specifically chose Hyatt Place so we would have a pleasant sitting area). Fortunately they had a larger room available and we were able to move. Breakfast was O.K. but pretty chaotic. The food was typical of what is offered for a complimentary breakfast in many hotels/motels.

The hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Probably the nicest, most sincere staff I have ever encountered.

One caveat: there is a charge for parking and the parking lot fills up early. Nowhere on their website did Hyatt Place SLC mention a charge for parking, and I do think it should be stated on the website. We were visiting family, so were out in the evening. The first evening we got back to the hotel around 8 and there were two or three spots opened. The next evening we got back around 10 and there were no spots left in the entire lot. Fortunately, just as we were about to pull out of the lot someone came out of the hotel and left, so we were able to get their spot.

Room Tip: The corner rooms are smaller than the standard rooms and don't offer much sitting area. Fine if...

My daughter was getting married so I booked a room for my husband and I, as well as a room for the bride and her friends. The hotel staff was so accommodating. They offered to put the wedding flowers in their refrigerators, let my daughter's friend check in early so she could decorate the room, etc. They were willing to help with anything we needed.

Hotel rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. The hotel was also close to downtown and both the Gateway Mall and City Creek Mall. We could walk everywhere.

We really liked this hotel. The rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. There was a nice sitting room area with a sofa bed and refridgerator. They had a nice continental breakfast from 6:30-9:30 am. It was right next to a shopping center with a lot of really nice restaurants. I also liked that their fitness room was open 24 hours. The only downsides were a $10 per day parking fee and the AC unit was located next to one of the beds and did not disperse air evenly (really cold if you were in the bed next to it). Other than that, it's a great place to stay.

Our stay at this hotel was quite flawless. The check in went quick and they were super helpful. The room was expansive and the pillows were nice and soft. VERY comfortable sleep. I would have given my stay a 5, but at breakfast there were only spoons available so we had to pick up our pancakes/sausage with our fingers. Other than that, everything was topnotch.

The Positive: The staff was very friendly. The breakfast good.

The Not So Positive: The coffee pot was not cleaned from the last persons. Old coffee grounds still in the pot. When we showered, the tub filled half full with water. Badly needed drain cleaner. For some reason, the fitted sheets kept coming off the bed. One sheet corner had blood stains. Very disappointing.
