“Not like it used to be”

Stayed her back in May for my anniversary. I was extremely disappointed. The room and hallways smelled of mildew. When I check the bed for bed bugs I saw a huge 24 inch yellow stain on the mattress. It was disgusting. The carpet was dirty as well. The table was sticky. The personnel at the front desk were cold. So not like Utah. My Aunt and Uncle used to stay here when I was a kid. It was nice, now it seem everything went in to the Grand America and they don't care about their sister property.
BTW we stayed in a tower room.

This hotel is in a convenient location, walking distance to the city and near airport and public transport. The breakfast buffet is extensive and well priced. We requested maintenance when we arrived and someone showed up within minutes to address our concern.

Room Tip: We stayed in a garden style room, but the tower rooms are superior

The Personnel of this establishment are top notch. They are readily available to assist and with a smile. Everything appears to be in great shape. The garden side rooms are modest in size. The beds are a bit hard. My husband didn't sleep too well due to this. Lots of convenient parking and not far from the light rail. I personally would skip their restaurant. Although they give you a lot of food for the price, the steak was not seasoned and the scallops were just ok. Because of the quality of taste, I'd say it's not worth the asking price. There are two pools, the one in the main building being much nicer than the garden side pool. It is adequate for families, business, couples etc. Wifi worked very well and was easy to access..

When we walked into the lobby I was thrilled--the place looked great. We had booked a courtside room and when we drove around there , it was very pretty. Parked right outside the door and the room was just lovely. Beautifully decorated, nice wooden blinds, and a gorgeous bathroom. It was a pleasant walk back through the pool area to get onto the main street too.

The only downside I can think off was the spotty wifi reception in our room--the lobby location worked great.

There's a tram stop close to the hotel in the free zone which we used a lot during our stay. Definitey recommend Little America

Absolutely gorgeous hotel!!! Our room was on the 12th floor and had a beautiful view. The train/trolley/tram ran right past the hotel so we were able to go practically anywhere. From the name, I was expecting a roach motel but instead got glamorous, sexy, old school, honest-to-goodness hotel. We were totally spoiled!

A very spacious room with a very comfortable bed. Big bathroom with nice amenities. In town for the Men's National Footie Team game so we were happy with the victory. Buffet was beast. Do not be put off by the old-style motel set-up. Nice pool and close to all downtown offerings. We got a great deal for the room so it was a good value.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room off of the street and off of ground floor.

If business or pleasure brings you to Salt Lake, this is a lovely place to stay. The pictures that the hotel has online don't do the place justice- it's gorgeous! The hallways and rooms have an "expensive" feel and the customer service is tops. After doing a lot of comparing and deciding to cancel my reservation at a high-end chain hotel, I booked on Priceline and got a great deal- very happy with the choice!
