“Amazing hotel”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

This review is from a stay we had there this past summer...but better late than never! The Little America is a wonderful hotel with great amenities and efficient pleasant service. The rooms are superb and quite large with nice furnishings and a great bed. We stayed in the tower king and the view of the city from high above the tower was great. Very comfortable feeling here and the rooms are very quiet too. We didn't hear anybody in the outside hall and this made for a very restful night. The pool and fitness center were clean, attractive and quite inviting. Most of all, the hotel staff is very well trained, providing top notch customer service. The hotel is very affordable for a downtown location and parking is right under the hotel in the spacious garage with easy access to elevators to the hotel lobby and tower rooms. I would highly recommend little America to anyone planning a stay in SLC. And what a clean beautiful city it is!

Very nice hotel. Our room was plenty big enough. Was clean and nicely decorated, however not recently renovated. The hotel staff was very efficient and helpful. Was nice to have a choice of restaurants. The lobby was grand and inviting as a previous review had stated.

This location has been in Salt Lake City for many years. Having said that, the room I stayed in was newly renovated, the lobby area was grand and inviting, and the Sunday Breakfast was second to none. We walked to Temple Square several times without difficulty. It is 4 blocks from Temple Square. There was free parking very close to my room. Staff was helpful. There had been a foulup with the room for my daughter and her friends. Staff at the Little America transferred the young ladies to the Grand America across the street where they were prinesses in opulent luxury! Very attentive staff at the Little America. The price was not high at the Little America. I paid $89 per night on Conference Weekend. Very reasonalbe for what you get.

Room Tip: We did not use the pool or any other amenities, and we had no kids so I don't know about kids...

I grew up in Salt Lake and Little America was always there. The tower has been built since I lived there so it is newer but retains the style and flavor of the older sections. I was pleasantly surprised at the old place. We stayed in a tower king room which was spacious with a bit of a retro vibe.....like the furnishings were still from the 70's-ish. Some of my family had garden rooms which were also large and really quite nice. Unfortunately, the "garden" view is a very busy street. But the rooms were quiet.
We were on the 10th floor and had a little balcony with a good view to downtown and the Wasatch Mts. My only complaint was we had no refrigerator in our room. The service was excellent and everyone was gracious and charming. From check -in to the very lovely bar server who had to explain Utah's bizarre liquor laws to us, i.e you could only get a glass of wine in the bar if you ordered food....not so great for an after dinner drink!
There are 2 restaurants, a small coffee bar and several shops as well as the "bar" in the hotel. Also, the grounds are lovely with well- kept gardens.

I worked from the hotel so the free wireless and desk were nice. I like the location. The lobby was awesome. Would stay here again. Right across the street from gas station conv store. They allowed me to check in early, around noon.

Researched several hotels in the area and settled on the Little America (it was the site of the conference we were in town for anyway). Chose the Garden Terrace rooms and although we HEAR they were smaller, we certainly didn't mind. It was great to not have to depend on elevators and was VERY quiet during the week.

Concierge staff was very helpful, but did wind up having to communicate with the front desk twice regarding room charges (our room had been paid for in advance, but they hadn't processed the paperwork).

LOVE how close it was to the public transportation (Trax) and so many stores, restaurants etc.

Room Tip: Garden rooms were quiet and convenient.

This is a nice place to stay. The service was great and it looks really fancy so it is great for pictures. You can stay there and make it look like you stayed at a top notch hotel, even though you paid a little less. A good restaurant attached. It made our stay nice.

Next time I would like to try the Grand America across the street. That would be cool as it is the fancier version of this one.
