“OK if you don't mind noise and lights.”
Reviewed July 26, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I checked into this hotel late at night, near the end of a cross country road trip. The desk clerk was friendly and efficient and quickly gave us our room key and signed us up for a wake-up call. We entered our room to find a clean space, albeit obviously decorated on a budget. We were so exhausted, we promptly went to bed, knowing we had to get up early the next morning to push through another 12-hour drive. Within the first 10 minutes, we got up 3-4 times to make the space "sleep worthy".., (1) to put a blanket over the LED display on the microwave (shines right on someone as they are trying to fall asleep), (2a) to stuff towels on top of the air conditioning unit and to (2b) to push furniture up against the remaining curtains which were too short to block out the bright light coming in from the parking lot lamp outside our window. It wasn't until I woke up at 5:45 am did I realize that I couldn't brush my teeth without waking Hubby, as the sink was basically in the bedroom rather than in a self-enclosed bathroom with a door. There was also no way to turn on the light for the "shower/toilet" room without waking Hubby as the light switch is located directly next to the sink, not inside that shower/toilet room. It was such a weird configuration, it's even hard to describe here. I guess the bottom line is, when designing these rooms, it seems no one at Marriott/Fairfield Inn gave any thought to what it would be like to sleep in this poorly-designed, not-dark-without-major-help room.

We originally had a reservation at the Hampton Inn across the street. We would be gone for 10 days and wanted to stay the night before and after and leave our car. Found out at the last minute that the Hampton Inn had no long term parking so searched and found this hotel. Shuttle service to airport was great. Room was fine, breakfast good. Price varied greatly due to return on a holiday.

As soon as we walked into the lobby, we saw a big platter of fresh baked cookies on the reception desk. What a nice treat after a long drive. The lobby is very modern with pretty colors throughout. There is a small market area next to the reception desk with snacks, drinks, etc. The gentleman at the desk was very cordial and helpful when we asked for directions to a local shopping area. Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast offerings were better than many hotels I have been in recently. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed one night before a flight out of SLC. Staff was very good. We had scheduled the airport shuttle to pick us up at 430 a.m. Upon checking out at 420 a.m., front desk advised us that they had set out breakfast items for us.

Room Tip: Connecting rooms are available.

The Fairfield Inn at the Salt Lake City Airport is very close to the airport. There are many choices in the Area where all the streets are named after "explorer/aviator" types. It seems to be an area where there are alot of offices and businesses so it is quiet. Jim at the front desk was friendly and helpful. There is a Perkins Cafe "attached" to this property so you can walk for dinner or lunch or breakfast. The breakfast room is large an there are lots of choices considering it is free. Our rate was very low due probably to all of the competitors in the vicinity. The rooms have a huge flatscreen, refrig and microwave and nice lines updated. The room and the lobby are decorated like a more upscale modern hotel. My only complaint is the hallways are very narrow and the walls are paper thin if you know what I mean!

We recently stayed here for a Father's Day weekend trip. The staff was accomodating. The only room available when I booked had one king bed for my son and me, so the staff brought in a rollaway bed for a third person in our room. The front desk clerks were helpful, giving us directions and answering our questions. The beds were very comfortable, and the room and bathroom were clean. A small refrigerator and microwave were in the room, and came in handy one evening. A Perkins Cafe and Bakery is attached to the hotel and we ate there the evening we arrived. The food and prices were decent but your have to order at the counter, then they bring the food to your table. The servers were nice though.

The property has an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, an exercise room, and a laundrymat. There's also a little market with chilled items and drinks, which you pay for at the front desk. Other amenities are free parking, wi-fi, and continental breakfast every morning with cereals, waffles, fresh fruits, beverages, breakfast sandwiches, etc. On weekdays, the breakfast only opens from 6:30 to 9:00 am which I feel is too short. This is actually a motel, so bell service is not provided. Dollies are available for do-it-yourself baggage service. Along with this, the only other shortcoming was that the AC didn't seem to get cool enough.

The hotel is nicely situated. We easily went west to the Great Salt Lake basin and east into Salt Lake City for some sightseeing. One afternoon, we brought the kids to Lagoon amusement park up in Farminton and the hotel gave us discount coupons; another perk. We enjoyed our stay here and would definately stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Book in advance so you get the kind of room you want (i.e. number and type of beds) at the price you...
