“Historic, Great Concerts”

I've been here several times. Not very comfortable and try not to sit right behind a pillar, but still pretty amazing history and great to listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

“Not a comfortable concert hall, but historically interesting”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

Unless you are going to a concert, the tabernacle doesn't offer much besides interesting architecture. I have been there for many events, most recently the Utah All-State Choir concert (I think it was in October but I'm not sure). The sound system and lighting were adequate for the production, but the venue is not very comfortable for the audience. Apparently, people a hundred years ago had very short legs (there is not much space between bench rows), and the tabernacle gets rather warm. But these are all discomforts related to its historic character, so there's nothing to do but sit back and enjoy a taste of pioneer experience (fanning yourself while seated on a hard, cramped bench)! The ushers are friendly and accommodating, and will work hard to find you a seat even if you arrive a bit late, as my other sister did. Parking usually requires a short walk from either the temple parking structure or the City Creek mall.

“the acoustics!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

For an audiophile, this is a must-visit location. It's absolutely amazing. If you can get a seat at the Tabernacle Choir practices/performances here, you will be blown away.

“Cool Architecture”

The whole Square is worth the visit. This building stands out with all the spires. Be sure to visit the museum area, lots of good artwork there and some interactive models set up.

“Empty piece of history”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2013

Beautiful building allowed to sit like an empty warehouse without a purpose. No organ demonstrations, no recordings, just quiet emptiness.
