“The dark side of nice”

Temple square is very impressive, but as goes for other impressive religious place like for example the Vatican, it raises questions and concerns as well. We entered the library to see if we could find something on our ancestors and the staff and volunteers were so exceptionally nice (even for American standards) that it makes you wonder what 'the catch' is. Getting outside and off Temple Square felt a bit like a relieve therefor, but despite all of this; when you're in SLC this place is definitely worth a vist

“Fabulous!”

Whether it is the large statute of Christ, the Christmas lights, the visitors center, the reflection ponds, or the fountains, Temple Square is very inspiring! I would highly recommend visiting.

“Architecturally a hodge podge.”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

Building are so very mixed and varied with so many mixtures of styles. Grounds were landscaped with beautiful flowers but overblown and pretentious.

“Something you have to see”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

We did not spend the night in Salt Lake City, but we allow a few hours to see Temple Square. It was well worth the time. The grounds are beautiful and the architecture and history are amazing. Most of the buildings were open and it was nice to see the insides as well. They have a nice visitors center with maps and lots of information. If you are in the area, don't miss it.

“awesome, relaxing walk around”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

It is always so well manicured and beautiful, no matter what time of year your go and there is usually free hot chocolate in the winters. The temple is so pretty and everything is just so good to look at. The sister missionaries who walk around are really friendly too, even if you aren't Mormon. They will ask you if they can talk to you about their religion, and I always do because I am Mormon as well, but they won't bug you if you say you aren't interested. It's a great place to look at Christmas lights in the winter!
