“Eagle kissed vistas, lush gardens and peacefulness.”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Foodies, Birders, Nature Lovers this is the B&B for you. Granted it was probably one of the most fabulous weather weeks of the PNW summer, sunny pleasant days and cool breezy evenings. With that in mind the gardens of Colette's were resplendent, a multitude of eye catching blossoming vignettes, the ivy festooned towering trees, massive 80 year old rhododendrons and a constant subtle fragrance filled the air. The evenings were remarkable with the fresh salty winds, abundant starry skies and the distant shoreline of Victoria Canada all easily noticeable from our perch on the manicured cliff overlooking the straight of Juan de Fuca. Mornings strolls from our quiet Cedar suite were highlighted by eagle sightings, hummingbird battles and the fragrant flower lined paths. Late night cookies and hot tea enjoyed in front of our fireplace or on our own veranda, along with early morning coffee as we read the paper in the garden by the pond only enhanced the peaceful ambiance. I cannot say enough about our caring hosts Cliff and Dae! Both are amazingly charming, equipped with the seasoned skills of well traveled nature guides, they make every effort to create " the perfect experience" for you. As mentioned before they honor special requests with kind of genuine courtesy you expect from family. Honestly between the famous gardens, the amenities of the property itself and the hospitality of Cliff & Dae, this was one of our best Select Registry B&B experiences. We will return! Oh, did I mention the evening wine, the deer, the impeccable decor, the whirlpool tub with a view and the comfy bed with an even better view?

Room Tip: We enjoyed the views from the bed and the bath along with the quiet and privacy of the Cedar Suite.

I have stayed at Colette's twice and each time I am awed by the entire experience...
the very warm welcome & attention to every detail by innkeepers, Clif & Dae
(who are also very knowledgeable about the world of nature), the lovely inn filled with
beautiful pieces of art, the gorgeous gardens & the views are just incredible.
One of the reviewers said earlier.."I wish there was a way to give out SIX stars", but
I would go even further and give Colette's a TEN!

I only wish there was a way to give out six stars. We just left this morning after a 5-night stay, and it didn't seem like enough. Other reviewers have done a fine job of praising Cliff and Dae, the incredible gardens, the impeccable rooms, the breakfasts, the touring advice and micro-weather reports for the various Olympic NP destinations, the wifi that actually works, etc., and it's all true. So I will just mention a few little things:

- On the first morning I asked if they had tomato juice (a morning addiction, and mysteriously absent from almost every place we stay). The answer was no, and I didn't make any special request, but for the rest of our stay it was just there every morning.

- Coffee is provided in the dining room before breakfast, but unless someone asks they don't make decaf, which my wife drinks. I asked them to make some, and said I would come back for it, but instead Dae appeared at our door a few minutes later with a carafe.

- We're on a two-month trip, and desperately needed laundry done. Although there's no formal provision for it, they dropped our stuff off at a great cleaner in Sequim and it was ready the next day, leaving our day free for fun.

These little vignettes are intended to convey a message: Your needs will be met, and even anticipated. We live 3,000 miles away, but we WILL find an excuse to come back here. One checkmark on the bucket list is not enough.

Room Tip: Several rooms, e.g. our Cedar, are in a separate building a few steps away. Very slightly less conv...

This was possibly the best inn we have ever stayed in! And as former (luxury) innkeepers, we know what we are talking about. The rooms are incredibly perfect, with no possible amenity missing, and the breakfasts are superb! The innkeepers, Dae and Cliff, do everything to make your stay perfect, including afternoon wine and snacks, dinner reservations, and sage advice on where to go and what to do to make your vacation days ideal. It is so sad to me that we live so far away that we can't return every year. Erni and Daryl Johnson

Room Tip: The pictures online really show the rooms accurately. Don't be afraid to choose based on these.

This is our second stay at Collettes and it is Awesome; by far the best B & B we have ever stayed in. The attention to detail, peacefulness, gardens, fire pit, afternoon wine, breakfast and Cliff & Dae are unsurpassed. We stayed in the Spruce room and will be back again next year.

I can't praise Cliff and Dae enough. They're the most attentive, informative, professional, discreet, helpful, and patient innkeepers I've ever come across. My wife and I experienced the best long weekend of our 35 year marriage at this beautiful, picturesque and relaxed B&B. From the fragrant and exquisite gardens surrounding the property, the layout of and amenities included in our suite, to the awesome breakfasts and afternoon wine and hors d'oeuvres, this place is the best in this part of Washington. It helped that the weather cooperated - 50/60 degrees and rainless - compared to the atrocious 100 degrees of our hometown Houston. It's the perfect time of the year to be in this part of the country. We'll definitely be back - sooner than later.

Room Tip: Cedar or Spruce suites offers the most privacy but all rooms on the property are great.
