Our 10 year anniversary getaway took us from a wonderful few days in Seattle up north to the quaint little town of Port Angeles, WA, which sits right on the Strait of Juan de Fuca. From there you can gaze across to Canada and see Victoria, BC (also a short ferry ride away).
We settled in at the most lovely, peaceful, and perfectly situated B&B, The George Washington Inn. Modeled after the Mount Vernon estate, this hidden gem is located on a beautiful lavender farm, surrounded by mountains on one side and sandy bluffs leading down to the ocean on the other! The innkeepers make their own lavender products and roast their own coffee, and have fresh cookies and tea out every afternoon. Their love of history shows in the details throughout the inn, and they have so carefully curated a luxurious experience for their guests.
Breakfast was truly a sensory experience- served in a window enclosed veranda with an incredible view looking out over the bay, and included savory + sweet culinary delights to start our day. Though all 5 rooms of the inn were occupied during our visit, we would’ve thought we had the place to ourselves until we gathered each morning with the other inn guests, although at private tables with an attentive and friendly server.
This inn was our home base for our hiking adventures over the next few days as we explored the vast and diverse Olympic National Pork. It was the perfect place to start our day, waking up to an incredible view our our private patio and enjoying delicious breakfasts and ending our days in the soaking tub after a long hike. Highly recommend this unique and luxurious Bed and Breakfast!
