Perfect Getaway

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jun 25, 2021
We absolutely loved our time at the George Washington Inn. Breathtaking views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca from the balcony and gorgeous views of the Olympic Mountains to the front. This property is simply beautiful, the grounds are immaculate, the lavender farm was lovely, and the room was clean and tastefully decorated. From the flower-lined driveway in, to the seamless check-in we knew from arrival that this was going to be a great stay and it was. Dan and Janet and Pauline went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well-fed. Breakfast was divine and the coffee was fantastic! We really cannot say enough good things about the George Washington Inn. If you’re visiting the WA peninsula, this is the place to stay!

So, first time to the George Washington Inn, and not our last!
Amazing setting, accommodations, and folks on the property.
We were so pleased with it all.
On the way home we booked for our birthdays (upending a long tradition of going to the big city to celebrate those) and are excited for this new nicer tradition starting...
If you are thinking of getting away or reading this- DO NOT HESITATE- BOOK IT!!
You will be glad you did....we are!

The Inn was clean and comfortable! We loved the bike ride accommodations and the trail nearby! The lavender and wildflowers were beautiful! The location and views were one in a million. The beds and sheets were simply amazing. Wish it was closer to us!

My wife and I spent the weekend at the George Washington Inn celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary recently. What a "perfect" setting, beautiful estate and a unique building (inn) filled with interesting historical facts, and staff made our stay so enjoyable! The setting is quite, the views from the estate looking over the water and the mountains were amazing, the rooms were very comfortable and clean. We planned day trips around our stay which included whale watching and hiking. Each day started out with breakfast that was very good and the hospitality from staff was phenomenal. We already booked a return stay for next year!

Our room had amazing views from every window! The bedroom had incredible views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and at night we could see Victoria across the water. The kitchenette had views of snow capped mountains, and the side window overlooked a beautiful wildflower garden that one evening had 2 deer settled in for the night among the blossoms. The inn also provides tasty, gourmet breakfasts in a sun porch with beautiful water views.

We celebrated my 75th birthday by treating ourselves to a three day weekend at this wonderful Inn, and will cherish the memories for the rest of our lives. There are many reviews which extol this place and particularly Dan and Janey Abbott, the Innkeepers, but it all comes down to one thing. When you are a guest here, you're part of the family. For a brief few days, you feel included, watched over and cared for. From Pauline's gourmet breakfasts, to readily available George coffee, cookies and other snacks and beverages, to luxurious bedding and immaculate suites, this is THE place to stay on the Olympic Peninsula. And as outstandingly excellent as it is, Dan and Janet are always improving and evolving the Inn for the maximum in guest comfort and the feeling of home. Our goal is to eventually stay in each suite at least once!

Room tip: Every room has its own excellent view. The larger suites are the presidential and the General Washington, at either end of the building.
