A Wonderful Overnight--Setting, Facilities, Hosts All Great

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Dec 10, 2017
Celebrating my birthday a week early, we had a very nice time at the George Washington Inn. The room was very comfortable. Our hosts were kind and friendly. The setting, overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca, with Victoria visible in the distance across the water, is spectacular. We enjoyed the historical touches and visual reminders of George Washington, and the landscaping with lavender plants. We also enjoyed hearing about Dan and Janet's activities in the community during the Lavender Festival and the Northwest Colonial Festival. The breakfast was tasty and the experience was most memorable. We recommend the George Washington Inn.

Janet and Dan are very caring, accommodating and friendly. They made sure everything was perfect for our stay and their attention to detail was meticulous. I have a food allergy but Janet was so accommodating and the breakfast was so delicious and I enjoyed every bite! Our room was so wonderful and beautiful as is the whole house and property. We felt so comfortable and wished we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend George Washington Inn, we love this place! If you get the chance to stay here, you will fall in love with this place and never want to leave.

My wife surprised me with a weekend getaway at the George Washington Inn. My expectations were exceeded! We were totally pampered with top notch hospitality, beautiful views and learned a little history. We booked the Presidential Suite for next year.

Very unique property. We stayed in October, well after the bustling lavender season. It was quiet and offered a meditative environment (which I needed) with the beautiful view of the mountains and Strait of Juan de Fuca. We loved it so much that we made the next reservation on the way out. Looking forward to going back in different season.

Room tip: The Presidential Suit on the second floor was spacious with a kitchenette and had two entry ways which was very convenient.

We celebrated our 50th anniversary August 19 and my wife's upcoming birthday with a trip out West. From the Inn in the morning we could look out at deer and the Olympic mountains in the background. Coming from the Eastern time zone I was up early and loved to get up and set in the enclosed porch, drink hot tea, and watch the sun rise looking out over the strait of Juan de Fuca and the lights of Victoria. Breakfast was served on this same porch at 8:30. Our room had a gas fireplace for atmosphere that we used. There also was a room thermostat nearby to heat the room if necessary. The bed was really comfortable with tiny wall shelves that proved to be very handy. They even had a pair of binoculars and a small flashlight. The bathroom had a shower and an air bubble tub. The bathroom window offered a view out over the water. I would often go get hot water for tea in the dining area in paper coffee cups and bring back to the room. There was glass cups you could use. Janet had a candy dish that she kept full. The whole Inn was very clean and peaceful.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Our room was huge, clean and pretty. Wonderful food served for breakfast overlooking the Juan De Fuca water and lights from Victoria. The BnB smells wonderful from the lavender growing outside. Loved this place and hope to return some day!
