Best Choice!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jul 18, 2016
After researching other possibilities, we chose the George Washington Inn for our recent visit to Sequim, and I could not have been happier with our choice. The Inn was impeccably clean, our bed comfortable, and the grounds and views are unsurpassed. Janet was extremely accommodating to dietary requests (vegetarian, gluten-free) and breakfasts were delicious with a nice variety. I especially enjoyed Janet's creative use of culinary lavender. Our stay was just prior to the lavender festival, but the lavender was in full bloom and on splendid display. This combined with the lovely lavender products (soaps, sachet) in the room all contributed to a very relaxing stay, in spite of an active schedule exploring the Olympic Mountains ( the take-away breakfast supplied was also delicious) and whale watching (also arranged by Janet). I would not hesitate to return, or to recommend. I also appreciated the guest discount at their gift shop. I can now enjoy that great hand soap at home as well!

We scheduled our stay in order to visit the Olympic National Park. The Inn is located on a lavender farm, which my wife loves, plus a lavender festival was being held that weekend. It was a good base for visiting the park, plus there were acres of beautiful lavender and other flowers with an ocean view. The Inn is a replica of Mt. Vernon and our room was luxurious. The hosts, Janet and Dan were gracious, and the breakfasts were really tasty. I would highly recommend staying at the Inn.

This is the 4th or 5th year we have stayed at the George Washington Inn for our annual "Girls' Trip to the Lavender Farms". It is by far, the nicest place we have ever stayed. Every aspect is perfect ...from the spacious suites; to the views from the veranda; to the gourmet breakfast. Nothing is over looked. We always wish we could stay longer.

Best, most luxurious, relaxing, friendliest and beautiful Inn! The owners, Dad and Janet, do everything possible to make you feel welcome. Sumptuous breakfasts in a gorgeous room overlooking the Straits of Juan de Fuca. All this yet still maintaining a quiet retreat with respect to your privacy. We have returned every year for several years and the quality never diminishes.

Everything about this property, the rooms, the hospitality were all beyond expectations. We were arriving a bit late so called; Janet answered and graciously offered to call nearby restaurants for us, even making a reservation at a delicious local restaurant, specializing in seafood, even had a view from the upstairs dinning room. Our room at the property was large, clean, and well appointed, with a whirlpool big enough for the two of us. Loved the fireplace and extra seating areas. Enjoyed home made baked good and even home roasted coffee! Meandering the property was a joy too. Surrounded by fragrant lavender fields, overlooking the ocean. Exceptional.

Dan and Janet are absolutely amazing hosts (and Janet is a fabulous cook!)!! This Inn is impeccable - every single detail has been thought of and included, from a small flashlight on the nightstand to the binoculars t allowed us to enjoy the views even more. The rooms are spotless, the furnishings are beautiful and the bed is very comfortable. You will feel like you are in a "homey" version of the Ritz. I must admit that I was reluctant to be this honest in my review, because I want this place to be available for us every year. We stayed 3 nights and wish we had booked the room for a week. Each room has a theme based on Washington's life, and the Inn is designed like George's own Mt. Vernon (except they only have 5 very large rooms on the same footprint where Washington's home had 20 rooms!). We can't say enough about this place - so amazing in every way!

Room tip: We stayed in the Presidential Suite - so spoiled!! Other travelers we met all raved about their rooms as well.
