Choosing the George Washington Inn made our vacation perfect. This place is fabulous! Every detail is attended to, the innkeepers are lovely, the setting is unsurpassed, and bald eagles during breakfast - over the top! We loved hiking all day in the Olympic National Park and then having this relaxing, first rate venue to return to. Their breakfast is delightful. Excellent food in just the right portions.

Room Tip: All rooms are fabulous and cozy.

The George Washington in not only is in one of the most beautiful settings on the Olympic Peninsula, but as guests, we were treated like Royalty. Proprietors, Dan and Janet Abbott, greeted us with a warm and friendly welcome and made us feel right at home. Since we were unfamiliar with the area, the Abbotts went out of there way to tell us where we should go to eat, sight see and even made a few phone calls for us. They also gave us the name and number of a real estate agent who could help us with our real estate needs. We have since moved to the Peninsula largely do to the love and care that the Abbotts showed us when we were here. We have recommeded the George Washington Inn to many people, and several of our friends have stayed there every time they visit the Peninsula. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE GEORGE WASHINGTON INN!

We stayed at the inn during the height of lavender season. It was stunning and we can't wait to go back to see our favorite eagle, appropriately named George. Watching him swoop over the Strait was a favorite passtime. The grounds , with the lavender fields are just so lovely. Pictures don't do it justice! The owners are wonderful hosts with a great knowledge of history, especially George Washington, who they admire and honor. The guest rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. If you want peace and quiet in a beautiful surrounding, you won't be disappointed. We will be back!

As a lifelong world traveller for both business and pleasure, rarely have I stayed at such a gracious, elegant, and welcoming establishment, located in one of the world's most sublime settings, run by the most sincere, hospitable, and warm proprietors. The Abbott family sets a new standard for comfort, a genuine passion for our nation's history and foundations, and a dedication to families and family values. Whether you're contemplating a romantic getaway or family retreat, The George Washington Inn should be at the top of your list.

I cannot reccomend The George Washington Inn more enthusiastically, as, in many ways, I lack the words to sufficiently describe the magnificent experience of being one of their guests. Their foyer guestbook overflows with praise from guests from around the world. Innkeepers from across the country should learn from this superlative example!

Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Every room at the Inn is exceptionally appointed, so any room is a genuine treat!

All the reviews about the scenery and amenities are spot-on. We stayed 3 nights in the Presidential Suite and it was top-notch. It would be nice just to sit at the Inn and enjoy the surroundings, so plan some time for that. There are deer and eagles that come onto the property and the ships are entertaining by themselves. An all around very nice experience.

Room Tip: The Presidential and General's suite have private doors out to the 2nd floor balcony which is very large. The other rooms have access to the balcony, so it's not private for these rooms, but it certainly is convenient to walk out your suite and enjoy the spectacular view.
