We were very pleased - clean, simple, small room but it had everything we wanted. The shower in the pink and gray '50's bathroom was great. The Inn was easy to find from the ferry, and is located conveniently across the street from the Quality Inn, where we had the included breakfast (very nice too, pleasant breakfast room, super clean and lots of variety). Friendly greeting from the receptionist (also at the Quality Inn). We slept well.

The young woman at Quality Inn who checked us in put us at ease with her pleasant personality and informative style because when we first pulled up, we got a little worried. I am thinking the Quality Inn has taken over management of this hotel thus there was a silver lining. The older section called the Uptown Inn apparently has been updated by Quality Inn and includes the amenities of QI such as a quality hot breakfast, soup for supper, strong internet, etc. Room was small, but updated with new carpet. But as others have said, pillows are an issue. It is close and walkable to downtown sites and the waterfront area.

We stayed in room 109. Sarah at the check-in desk was very friendly and professional; apparently they have soup in the lobby some days! The breakfast is also on the 'very good' end of motel breakfasts.

The room is actually a sitting area with kitchenette plus a bedroom; there is an ironing board at the end of the hallway and a good amount of cookware, if you wanted to self-cater (note that there is no oil). Since I snore, I slept on the futon; there was only a thin second blanket and no sheets with it. The pillows are pretty small, and the shower head is installed very low -- I'm 5'3'' and had to contort to get my head under the stream of water.

Curtains are not blackout -- I brought my eye mask and was glad I did.

We stayed here Dec 26. The motel was clean and comfortable and worth the price. The room was small but adequate for our needs and close to downtown dining options. If you are looking for luxury, stay somewhere else, but, for a one night stay it was exactly what we were looking for. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for two nights before taking the ferry to Canada. The pluses: The office staff was very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was great. The room was clean. The motel is walking distance from downtown, the ferry, the waterfront, Safeway and other places. The minuses: The bed was awful. Very uncomfortable and there were only two very small, very flat pillows. We ended up purchasing two new pillows so we could be comfortable. There was only one chair in the room (which, one would imagine, was designed for two guests). There was also only one very small garbage receptacle. The bathroom had very little counter space and very little space to set soap, shampoo, etc. in the shower. There was also no fan in the bathroom so a shower steamed up the entire room. This is a clearly quite an old motel and the decor is quite dated. We felt that the price was much too high given the discomfort level.
