“Great place to stay when touring Olympic National Park”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

What a great little motel! Miss KC (the owner) was super friendly and helpful during our stay- she would see us and ask what our plans were for the day and would then produce a map where she would show us the best routes to take, places to visit in the park, etc (and would give us the map to take along). Very clean and comfortable rooms, too. We were only going to stay one night, but wound up staying three because of the excellent location to the park and downtown Port Angeles. The first two nights we stayed in a king single room on the second floor (the room is very big and Miss KC said the mattress was pretty firm, which is what we like), and the third night we called late and asked for a last minute reservation (which she let us have, even though they were packed) and stayed in a double queen room. The queen room was nice, but was HUGE and would be better for families. We were also given excellent recommendations for local restaurants. Also, the fridge and microwave in our room really came in handy when we had leftovers the next day from Tendy's Restaurant. A really great stay and thank you Miss KC from this Tennessee couple!

We have stayed here several times, usually when we are coming and going on the ferry. This year we noticed that some improvements have been made. We stayed in Room 35 which was very spacious. The new beds were very comfortable and it looked like new carpeting had been installed. There is a fridge and microwave in the room. The managers are very helpful and even gave us bottled water and snacks for our trip on the ferry. We enjoyed our stays at this motel and will definitely stay there again in the future.

Room Tip: Choose room #35 - spacious, comfortable bed.

We stayed for one night here and couldn't of been happier! We got a great price and the staff were nothing but sweet and nice to us! The room was bigger than I'm used to and the bathroom was huge! The hotel had fast wireless Internet and was within walking distance to places to eat and also to grab snacks! We would not think twice about staying here in the future!!

First Impression: Getting a hold of staff to book a room was difficult and unprofessional. The overall location was in a rough part of town and the Office was very messy and outdated. Even the pamphlets on local attractions were mostly out-of-date. I was getting concerned, but the tripadvisor.com reviews had been very good, so...

Room: The room smelled clean, the rug and bedspread appeared new-ish. TV/DVD combo was nice. But...many areas in the room were cracked, very old, not sealed, holes in the walls from the removal of towel bars and other repairs were not patched, etc. No outlets available by the bed without moving a mattress, refrigerator was not working, even after I plugged it in. (Was told by staff I had not turned something on correctly...MY JOB?)

Will not be suggesting this motel to my friends...unless low cost is the determining factor, about $50!

Friend and I stayed at the Royal Victorian on our recent hiking trip through Washington State. The owners and staff were beyond friendly and made every effort to make us feel welcome, including providing us with dinner recommendations down the street at an incredible Chinese Restaurant called Tendys.

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the price was very affordable. If I am ever out this way again, I will be sure to stay here, it was well worth it.

Without question, K C, the owner & main service provider, is one of the nicest people we have every had the pleasure to meet. She maintaines a extremely clean facility, although it is not new & provides travelers with some of the best service you could ask for. K C will go out of her way to afford you a grand visit.
Although not advertised, she provides free transportation to and from the Victoria Ferry & makes certain you have needed supplies & information for the crossing.
She even made sure our room was cozy warm when we returned. (Match that Hilton!)
Rest assured we will stay there again on our next trip to Port Angeles, Wa.

This is probably not the place you would choose if you just looked at it from the street. Overall the place looks shabby and that applies to the the interior of the rooms as well. However, the room was clean and fairly roomy. The bed seemed inexpensive but was fairly comfortable. The owners are unique but extremely friendly and helpful. They even provide a tiny breakfast (banana, pastry, and coffee) which is more than most mom and pop places provide. The price is right and the accommodations are more than adequate.

Room Tip: Economical stay for Port Angeles
