We went to Michael s based on the reviews on trip advisor. Got strange vibe from staff, almost like dealing with the " Adams Family": ( this was a series in the sixties about a family of weird eccentrics).
Took 40 minutes to get chicken dish. 20 minutes for check. Trying to be a hipster cellar restaurant but failed.

We walked two miles from our hotel to have dinner here, because it seemed like we'd have a good meal of local food -- and we did! From chowder to oysters to paella, our group of four foodies was very pleased with a lovely meal and friendly service. After dinner they called us a local taxi to drive back to our hotel. This was one of the nicest meals we had in our 10 days touring Seattle-Olympic-Rainier-Friday Harbor. Would definitely return.

We found Michael's by accident, but we were sure glad we did. We actually descended down to the restaurant but the atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. It is a large restaurant but it is broken into many intimate areas. We were greeted by Michael and as we sat at the bar to have oysters and champagne, he personally served us. We then moved to a table and the menu selections included both fresh seafood and other meat items. I ordered the Cioppino and was overwhelmed by the favor and variety of seafood. I do think it was the best Cioppino I have ever eaten. All in all, a real find!

Visited on Sunday night at 6:30 without reservations on the recommendation of our hotel desk clerk. The food was good but not spectacular. Service was mediocre..had to ask for bread and order was not correct. Sat in bar for 15 minutes while waiting for table to be even acknowledged by bartender. $47 is pretty steep for a filet mignon steak. Fettuccine was overly peppered and I tasted not a hint of nutmeg. I might go back if I was unsure of my other options.

The restaurant was very crowded when we arrived, which usually means that the food is very good. We were not disappointed. The seafood is fresh, and well prepared. Our service was exceptional.
