This beach is absolutely breathtaking. The river and beach give the whole family lots of options when looking for a good day at the beach. My kids enjoy using their sand toys building structures, discovering marine life in the tide pools and wadding in the either fresh or salt water. We usually make a stop on our way out at the play area up above in the campground to let the kids play as well. Only grumble is lack of restroom areas near the beach and uncleanliness if se hike all the way back to parking area.

We went to Tongue Point at low tide and it was definitely worth the drive. Kids loved seeing all the crabs, starfish, anemones, and much more.

Salt Creek is a beautiful beach and the tide pools were very fun for our entire family. There were little crabs that were small enough to pick up all of the place. We also saw a large jellyfish in the shallow water to the edge of the tide pool area and some tiny crabs were grabbing its tentacles and gradually pulling it in. It was a discovery channel type experience. Amazing.

Tide pools, water spouts, deer, crashing waves, old bunkers, super beach for rocky beach lovers! We didn't see much of the tide pools, since the tide was coming in, but visually stunning beach area! Enjoyed it immensely!

Tidepools were fun to see and explore. Not much else to do, especially if you visit during high tide. Great location for RV campers.
