The hotel itself is renovated and it is very interesting to wonder around this century old building and see the room design, which is trendy and interesting. However, the particular room was not comfortable; the high stools didn't match the regular kitchen table so eating at the table was a puzzle. Positive - 3 minute walk from Victoria ferry; staff is quite friendly. Our ROOM NUMBER 1 was on the third floor, with private bathroom and facing the street. When we booked the clark did mention the noise from facing the street, but I didn't realize the extent of it. It did not matter whether we kept our windows open or closed: the window material provided no noise insulation whatsoever. The hotel is on the intersection of two busy streets with traffic lite, so we had two sleepless nites with auful constant nite noise from traffic, didn't have any rest at all. Other rooms are facing different directions, so may be quieter.
