A friend and I stayed at the Port Angeles Inn while doing a road trip around the Olympic Peninsula. The hotel does have some nice things going for it, it is clean, it has one of the best views of town, the owner is an older gentleman who appears to live nearby and takes good care of the property. There is complementary juice/coffee/bagels/cereal in the morning.
The cons- the hotel hasn't changed much since the 70's. Though very clean it is really outdated. Astro turf in the elevator and walkway, bright orange and dark fake wood decor, old windows that do let in quite a bit of sound, and though it does not get hot often, if you visited in the warmer months there is no A/C.
Our room also was nothing special, but still cost about $150 a night- which is pretty high for a small town in Washington.
Still of the options in Port Angeles, I would have no problem recommending it. The view really is great.

Port Angeles doesn't have the best selection of hotels, and they are all around the same price (over priced). If I had to stay the night again I would definitely stay here though. It was extremely clean and the staff was very friendly.

I didn't have high expectations for this place, even though I paid more for this room than for any other on our vacation, but still I was disappointed. Our room was stuck under the stairway, and quite dark. The only light in the bathroom was a heat lamp, and the lighting in the dressing area was very poor also. Staff at the front desk varied from helpful to not very. They did have a free continental breakfast which was passable. I liked the location because it was close to restaurants and the ferry dock. It is located on a hill, so that while the walk is short, some may object to an uphill climb to get back to their room.

We stayed one night before taking the ferry to Victoria, BC. It is close to the ferry terminal. Although the inn is a little dated, it is clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We were there on the 4th of July so there was a lot going on in the town, but the noise outside did not prevent us from getting a good nights sleep. For anyone needing a place to stay before catching the ferry, this is more than adequate.
