“Great view, great staff but older rooms”

Stayed in 326, as most rooms, had large corner window that looked out over the bay. Rooms are older, could use some updating, but clean and comfortable. Enjoyed our stay, even added a day (3 total). Just feet from rooms are steps leading down to historic old town which features many shops and restaurants. Visited Olympic National Park area from here also. Beautiful area. Only downfall for motel is the amount of transients walking to town and back. This is no fault of hotel. We did not see them bother anyone. I would still stay there again. Motel is near grocery stores also. #1 feature of this Quality Inn were the staff. The most friendly we have met. Funny, courteous, helpful - all we came into contact with.

The exterior had a fleabag appearance complete with missing "UA" in the lighted Quality Inn sign. However, this was a nice, clean servicable little hotel. The location was great. It was a short walk to downtown--straight down a long flight of stairs which must be reclimbed to get back to the room--and the harbor view was nice. The desk clerk was pleasant and was willing to switch our room from the mountain-view (which we requested on the internet when we made our reservations) to the harbor-view which looked cool when we got there. Our room, itself, had a quirky design and orientation but had a working shower, television, microwave and frig. It was furnished okay. What more could you want after a long day hiking the National Park trails? The complimentary breakfast was above average with lots of choices. Overall, a good experience.

The receptionist was very friendly. The room we got (first floor with a view) was very clean and big. The breakfast was nothing spectacular but coming from a breakfast nation I believe that America is not the place for good breakfasts anyway. It was ok. Parking was for free and it was just 1 minute to get to the main street with all the shops and restaurants. The price as such was relatively high for the night but we could not bother to look for a motel or hotel a bit outside. We checked one or two and this was the best deal we could get in this area. All in all a friendly quiet hotel.

Been coming here for a long time.it had been a bit sents I had stayed thow. The room looked not so clean, had hair my bathtub. Room smelled like wet dog and a lot of the old staff that I liked talking to and made me feel at home were gone like Tiffany,valerie, and hannah. Not to happy next time I will find a new place to stay.

I am unhappy you were dissapointed with your recent visit at our hotel. You mentioned there were housekeeping issues in your room. Please accept my apology. The issues you experienced have been brought to the attention of the housekeeping staff. Our goal is to prevent these issues from occurring and make each guests stay a satisfying one. You commented that you did not see some of our staff you knew from previous visits at our hotel. While some of the staff is still here, others have relocated out of the area, started families, and began new carreers. Thank you for your review and sharing your concerns. Hopefully, when visiting this area in the future you'll consider us your hotel of choice.

For a hotel location so near the water with views of the harbor, plus all that marine traffic, you'd think they would update the hotel. It was clean but so drab and out of date. Understandably we are living in tough economic times, but please... spare a thought for the traveler who has come from one side of the United States to the other. We visited because of the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend and just could not get a room in the town. And another thing... it's a long drive back and forth on Highway 101. The staff were friendly, oh and yes, do we have to have the TV on in the small breakfast room all the time? Where is the peace for vacation time?

Room Tip: A room with a view is the best option

Thank you for placing your review on TripAdvisor. Your opinions have been shared and noted. Our hotel is not newly built however, we are clean and well maintained. Our views are spectacular from most our guest rooms. Updated features in our rooms are an ongoing process. Look for New flat screen televisions soon. I apologize the television in our Breakfast room disturbed your peace during your vacation. It is reccommended that the news be offered to our guests during breakfast. However, we occassionally have a request for cartoons and are happy to honor the request. Your comments are valued and important to us.

first they didnt have the room we booked then when we got that sorted out and saw the room there was no air conditoning and had a house behind it with kids screaming another bad thing was since there was no air conditoning we had to have the windows open and the traffic noise would keep you up all night.so if you want a relaxed and enjoyable trip do NOT stay there

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns regarding your recent visit with us. I am confused with your comment that you did not receive the room you reserved. Perhaps we were unable to honor a request you added to your reservation. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee all guest requests, although we make every effort to honor as many requests as we are able to. Perhaps you reserved a room with two queen beds and requested a ground floor room and there were no two queen bed ground floor rooms available on your check-in date. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Our hotel does not offer air conditioning, in our area temperatures seldom exceed a comfortable 70 - 80 degrees. It is disappointing to learn you were uncomfortable during your visit.
Generally there is very limited traffic noise in and around our hotel as we are situated on a bluff, at a dead end street, and on the edge of a residential area. We are not located on a busy highway or main street of the city. It is unfortunate the evening noises disturbed your visit.

If you are looking for a fast night in Port Angeles like we were ( we were taking the AM ferry to Victoria), this is the place. It was clean and the staff was friendly. IT IS OLD. It is not full of amenities ... but the breakfast was great for our family of 4. Our teen girls found it to be "fine". It is a 10 minute walk down to the Ferry.

We wanted clean and this was definitely that. But it was definitely OLD and has not had renovations. Worked great for our roadtrip.
