$225 was the price....mold in the shower, not just a few spots, all over GROSS! Not vacuumed, soap dish still had soap from last person, trash behind nightstand, baseboards were filthy. Sorry, maybe it was just our luck but we can not recommend. PS. They did try and upgrade us, but that room also had trash in it. They did give us a refund and were very nice about it.

While both Trip Advisor and Triple A recommended this property, I would not. We paid almost $200/night for a musty, dated room. Yes, it was clean, but that's about the only good thing I can say about it. The location is great if one is taking the ferry to Victoria. However, it's more like a $75.00 room. Hopefully, Port Angeles has better options.

Our original plans were to take the ferry across from Port Angeles to Vancouver Island, but we were tired after a long drive and opted to find a campground with our motorhome. The ones we saw were not very attractive, and the Red Lion was our alternative choice just to get some sleep. As it turned out, we had a lovely room overlooking the strait, downtown Port Angeles is a great place to wander around so close to the ferry building, and we really enjoyed our stay.

Room tip: Definitely go for a room with a view of the water--we saw the most gorgeous sunrise the next morning, after enjoying some fun wandering about the area the night before. Plus, you're just across the road from the ferry building. It doesn't get more convenient if you're planning a trip across the water.

We reserved a room over labor day weekend for a quick get away. We were charged about $ 250 per night for a "King Suite". I don't mind paying that rate, but expect to get a good quality for that price. Boy were we surprised.

Most places we stay, a King Suite has a couch or love seat where both of us can sit. They had 1 chair in a very large room that looked way out of place. The chair was filthy with a number of stains. The carpet also had a number of stains. There was mold in the bathroom and towel rack was so off level it was a joke. The room next door had a family with children & we could hear every word as the walls were so thin.

It seems like the fact that they are near the water, they reserve the right to over charge and under perform. Definitely not what the Red Lion chain claims to provide it's customers.

Check around town. We found better options at a better price & we will be going to these locations next time. Sorry Red Lion, you can't let a hotel run down & still ask for top dollar.

The staff was friendly. The rooms were very spacious with four adults in the room. We had a beautiful view of the bay from our balcony. The beds were very comfortable even with my bad back. It had a clean convent laundry room, but always out of detergent even when I asked at the desk. The few minor inconveniences were, no coffee in the lobby but always available into restaurant for free. the rollup bed was unusable, there were insufficient chairs on the balcony even when I asked the from desk for extras they never brought them. I had to asked the other hotel guest for chairs. but to me these were minor problems and I still give the hotel a top rating.

Room tip: Bring your own laundry packets. Ask for a room facing the bay.
