The day we were here it was raining, which made the trip to see Duane Allman & Barry Oakley's graves even more other-worldly. The graves are simply elegant and serene. Finally able to pay my respects and reflect on two very talented, gone to soon rock legends. The rest of Rose Hill is really cool for exploring, many old graves and crypts. Can see why the Brothers came here to practice.

We stopped at Rose Hill for the sole purpose of visiting Duane Allman & Berry Oakley's graves. We found their graves quite easily and Elizabeth Reed's grave is especially easy to find. We also visited Little Martha and the Bond Tomb. Though we weren't strapped for time we didn't spend but about an hour there. We plan to return and sightsee more on our next trip through Macon because there appears to be a lot of history and really old graves in this cemetary. We saw quite a few interesting tombstones. While the cemetary was peaceful on this Saturday afternoon, I can see where it is probably spooky at night.

This cemetery is a serene place to go and reflect, besides being of obvious historical value. I sometimes go here to pray, or just enjoy the landscaping and stonework.

I was amazed by this place. Kind of creepy but so beautiful at the same time. What history!! It was the place to go to end the day of Allman Brother Band touring. Seeing where they went to make their music and the beauty of the cemetary itself was a wonderful experience.

The Cemetery is actually listed as Rose Hill Allman Brothers Association. The graves of Duane and Berry Oakley. It is said that the Allman brothers found peace and inspiration as they often visited the cemetery.
