“Plentiful pizza toppings, but not quite filling”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

We shared a large pizza with veg toppings. The toppings were plentiful, which was excellent, but since the crust was quite thin we found ourselves hungry again just a few hours later. (For $25 you would hope for a more filling meal, but this is New Zealand and things are pricey.) What we had was good, though. Ambiance is nice with the fireplace.

“Glacier Ruiner”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

The most difficult part is deciding whether it was the worst meal I’ve eaten out in New Zealand, the worst meal I’ve ever eaten out, or the worst meal I have ever eaten. The bangers and mash ($19.50) of overcooked frozen peas, smash original and microwaved “sausages” came in piddley portions. My friends all had similar over-priced frozen meal experiences, and I have absolutely no idea what the camembert actually was. On the upside there was nothing really wrong with the service however the toilet had obviously enjoyed a long stint of time to gather dust. Also I would like to add that the town and the Monteiths beer were charming but we should have gone to the other place down the street.
