If your traveling and feel like some real honest home cooked food, then this is your place. 4 of us had the lamb shanks which basically fell off their bone. They were to die for. The meals were big and good value. My wife had the fish of the day which she enjoyed.

After a hard day of driving in the rain, and a minor car accident, we walked into the restaurant during an extremely busy time. No tables available, and we weren't in the mood to share one. We were ready to walk out even though we didn't want to leave the comfortable atmosphere of Alice May's. The waitress suggested a drink at the bar and then gave us the first table that came available. Just as we finished sharing the delicious whitebait starter, the same waitress came and suggested we move to a larger, better positioned table. When she served our mains, she threw in an order of garlic bread. Not only was our food and wine delicious, the special attention Laura gave us turned a trying day into a lovely one. We'd happily return.
