arrived in the afternoon on boxing day. Warm welcome from Deborah, who showed us to our mezzanine style room. very well appointed, lovely and clean and some really nice homely touches.
made even better by a home made mince pie and a cuppa.
slept like a log in the big comfy bed, refreshed and ready for a walk on the glacier.
thanks!

We arrived on x-mas day in the late afternoon and we were received in a great spirit. With home made mince pies, crackers in the room. Room was spacious, with ensure bubble bath, mezzanine sleeping, great cosy feeling an a good stocked kitchen.

Would recommend to everybody

The location is ideal if your destination is Fox glacier. The rooms were quite nice, minimal but clean ski lodge feel. But the entire experience was soured by our host's disagreeable manner.
We had arrived at the lodge at 10:30 pm. We had driven all the way from Te Anau, a 6 hour drive after a day of activities. All we wanted was a good night's rest, instead we were greeted with a disgruntled owner who could not get over the fact that we had arrived several hours after our estimated time of arrival. A time, i should add, we had estimated months prior to our trip. She was passive aggressive, and could not move past the fact the we were "late". Even after I attempted to assuage the situation with an apology, she simply could not let it go. A most unwelcome reception. The last thing one needs after such a long and difficult drive.

This B&B is just arround the corner of Fox Glacier. If youre lucky to catch a sunny day then the view accross the mountains will fascinate you! The room itself was very tidy and cosy and you can enjoy Deborah's tasty self made cakes :-) It is a very recommendable place, not just because you can wash your clothes. Another plus: In the evening you can leave your car as it is, because all restaurants can be reached by foot.

Book early (before 4pm) even if the weather is rubbish and the place looks deserted! And your glacier tour!
Clean and convenient for town.
Nothing really special to report as prices are high in this small market but campsite very tidy

This is a great place that I didn't know existed until I got to Fox glacier. Everything I found on the web was marginal and then I found the Lodge. It's kind of a hybrid between a B&B and a hotel. It has the best of both. Debra and her daughter were very warm and went above and beyond to help with even the smallest things. The rooms are big and clean with a large bathroom that has a jet tub. Breakfast is what you want to make of it. There is everything from cereal to eggs in a do it yourself kitchen/dining room. I saw some of the B&Bs that I had considered a was reassured at every turn that we had done the best thing. It was worth it to stay here in Fox and drive to Franz when needed. The topper is the extremely reasonable price. Also a big plus, laundry on site. Most B&Bs are in suburban neighborhoods so be prepared.

Room Tip: The mountains are behind the Lodge, but room 7 had a queen bed and a front view.

Stayed in a powered site. Campervan sites were good but not the best owing to wet weather which made some sites a little
Muddy with puddles. Some weeds need clearing at the centre of the circular parking area for campervans. That aside, the owner was very friendly and gave out free wifi vouchers. Price very reasonable at $17 for 1 adult and 1 toddler. Location is prime. Views of alpine mountains from site. Toilets clean but need a little more cubicles. Mainly a motel lodge business and the rooms
Looked excellent even though I didn't try them out. Stayed here 2 nights while waiting for rain to clear. Must have been one if the best value for money campervan sites in the south island. Kitchen is small but cosy with all u need available. The lodge itself and surroundings is very beautiful.
