“Welcoming, warm place to stay in Fox”
Reviewed November 15, 2011

Stayed here for 2 nights and would definitely recommend it - on arrival we met Deborah who gave us some freshly baked cake and gave us some advice on best things to do in the area.
The room was a good size, clean and warm and the self-serve continental breakfast included some lovely home-made bread. Good location although nothing is too far away in Fox!

This is a good place to stay in so much as it is clean, comfortable and not too expensive and it had a decent(ish) continental self serve breakfast. We went with very high expectations going off the back of the reviews on here and these were dampened slightly by the lukewarm reception of the owner and just about everyone else in the area (apart from the Fox Glacier Guides - they were superb). To be honest there isn't a lot of option in the area so we would probably stay again if we went back - we would just have more realistic expectations!

Stayed here with my fiance in September. We decided to pay a little bit more and stay in the seperate little cabin. Can't stress just how nice this was:

When we arrived we were met with a warm smile and loads of help regarding what to do in the area. Then shown to our lovely timber cabin, It has a fantastic gas fireplace with little kitchen area (fully stocked I might add with lovely breakfast items!), very comfortable and big bed + sofa and kitchen table. Then there was the bathroom with a seperate shower and jacuzzi bath!

We arrived in the dark during a rain storm so it was perfect to snuggle up in such a beautiful cabin. Was in the morning though that we were greeted whilst lying in bed by the view of Mount Cook out of the window.

Perfect!

This in the UK would cost double!!

Room Tip: pay the little bit extra and get the timber cabin.

This is a nice lodge close to fox glacier shops. The wooden lodge rooms have a real country feel. Rooms are comfortable and the continental breakfast ok too. Good stay!!

Fox Glacier Lodge
This timber wood accommodation caught my eyes when I started to look for an accommodation in Fox Glacier area.
Fox Glacier Lodge consists of self contained units and camper van park rental. The self contained unit we booked came with a spa bath with continental breakfast and free wifi at a very low price
It is located right in the heart of Fox Glacier township, we can basically walk to the restaurants and convenient store from the motel in 3 minutes!
The unit was huge and clean with a comfortable king size bed. There were two sofas in the room, complete kitchenette, dinning table and chairs, TV and DVD player and an electronic gas fireplace!
The bathroom was clean with enough amenities, a walk in shower and a spa bath!
I personally like the feel on this little wooden cabin with the fireplace. The spa bath and free wifi Internet just made me love them more! The best thing was, we did not have to pay a tons to enjoy all these! We would definitely be back to this motel!

We only spent one night here but could not fault the welcome and friendly service of the staff. Our room was clean and comfortable, we liked the idea of a communal, self serve breakfast (the food was great too!).
We did the glow worm walk and were rewarded by hundreds of glow worms putting on a show, we were also told of the best place to see the fantastic sunset and were able to take amazing photographs. Highly recommended
