20 min walk on the flat to restaurants but if we went by car there was no problem parking.

We were made to feel at home. It was modern and Raelene's grounds were beautiful. Room was spacoius, comfortable, clean and quiet. (exept when the helicopters were flying!)

Good breakfasts, eggs from her chickens and strawberries from her garden.

We immediately felt at home! Realene welcomed us in her relaxed way in her cosy house, which offers great views of the mountains. Even from our bedroom we had a spectacular view, the room was bright and had a lot of windows, and a direct access to the terrace and to the huge and well-kept garden, which surrounds the house. Breakfast is excellent! In fact we must admit, that, upon our arrival, we were a bit afraid of the heliport just next to the house, but in fact there was no annoying noise coming from this place during our stay. We really recommend the Reflection Lodge!

Raelene will make your stay at Reflection Lodge a truly great one. The rooms are excellent, the gardens superb and the location perfect - terrific views of the moutains but with easy access to the Glacier and Lake Matheson as well as further afield places. You get serious inside information about the area and its optionjs, and connections to elsewhere on the Coast if you need them. You also get expert advice on the local heli tours as this family has been around that activity for a very long time.

Wow, what a great stay we had.
Selected on the basis of its location - it measured up perfectly. Convenient for all the tourist activities you do when visiting the glacier area and it has its own private lake with perfect reflections of Mt Tasman and Mt Cook - a photographer's paradise.
Raelene was a superb host - nothing was too much for her, the breakfasts were superb, the friendly chat a delight and her knowledge of the local area and people brilliant. We felt like we were one of the family.
We are definites for coming back and can highly recommend this B&B.

We rarely write reviews but we had to make an exception for Raelene. We stayed for 2 nights and from the moment we arrived Raelene made us feel at home. We didn't have great weather but we had wonderful company, a perfect host who was happy to share personal stories, introduce us to friends and family members, give informed recommendations and share real NZ West coast life with us for which we were most grateful. This was one of the more real NZ experiences we had and we felt privileged to have it. Beats the pants off a hotel experience. Thank you for a marvellous memory. Have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013 Raelene. All the best, Olivia & Brett.

We paid a visit to Fox Glacier when we traveled in New Zealand, and stayed in this beautiful house, meeting this lovely lady-Raelene.
There're a lot of fun when we gathered in the living room at night, sharing ice cream and chinese green tea brought by us,also Raelene provided a little of lamp when she prepared dinner for the family, really little, too little for two men to eat! well....very yummy indeed.lol.
It's also very interesting to share our experiences of cooking too.
I would say,the atmosphere and services surpassed the environment, though the environment surounding was already wonderful.
u deserve a A+,my lady.(sorry to respond so late,been very busy ever since back to China,miss u~)

We are still talking about our two nights in Fox Glacier and I don't think we will ever forget them! We had a fun time with Raelene and her family. Our room was lovely with lots of space and about the best en-suite we had in NZ. the weather was appalling while we were there, but we managed a brief flight with Louis (her son) up onto the glacier in horizontal snow and then made the drive down to Gillespies Beach. By then we were very wet indeed so we admitted defeat and returned back to the B&B for the afternoon. There was a birthday celebration that evening and we were well entertained by discussions of how to cook the gammon and also given a lovely cheese and salami platter to soak up the wine and beer! The wood stove was lit as was the huge fire in the living room and it was very cosy that we were reluctant to go out for dinner. But we did for our second visit to the Last Kitchen - very yummy!

So thank you Raelene and family for such wonderful hospitality, much hilarity and true Kiwi warmth
