the rooms are excellent and very clean, spacious with great showers. Trish and colin were the best hosts, very accomodating, warm and friendly, nothing is a worry. This is a home away from home, the service is of 5 star quality, definitely will recommend to all our friends and family. the dinner was lamb shanks, the best ever I have tasted in NZ, it is to die for. The dining room is the best part, with the best table handcrafted by Colin, its like eating in the finest restaurant. Highly recommended.

You will find the hosts Trish and Collin to be extremely personable and friendly, welcoming and warm. They had great local information and assisted in making travel plans. The dinning room with its amazing views of the mountains is not to be missed. The room was large, the bed more comfortable than any we had previously experienced in New Zealand. The private ensuite bath is extremely roomy. You can feel very comfortable that a homestay at Ropatini's will be a highlight of your trip to New Zealand.

We had booked one night at Ropatini's on the last leg of our 11 day trip round NZ - and boy we were sorry we hadn't booked two nights!! We received a very warm welcome from Trish who advised that she had upgraded us to another room and gave us some terrific advice on the best photo-taking spots around Fox Glacier and Lake Mathieson. The location is very peaceful but only a couple of minutes drive or 10 min walk from local eateries. Our room was a self contained studio with ensuite with the most comfortable bed we'd slept in on our trip around both islands. We were cosy and snug and enjoyed a fabulous breakfast the next morning featuring freshly baked muffins, home made bread, cereals and stewed fruit and rhubarb picked fresh by Trish from her garden. Trish, Collin and Diane were friendly, relaxed hosts with great stories to share over the brekky table. We were genuinely sad to leave! This B & B is an absolute gem - thanks Trish, Collin and Diane and we'll definitely be recommending you to friends and family heading to Fox Glacier.

Ropatini’s is what we imagined a homestay in New Zealand would be like. Trish and Diane made us feel like family. They are wonderful hosts. (Collin was busy mowing the lawn before a big storm came in, so he couldn’t spend too much time chatting. We met him. He was wonderfully charming.) We stayed in one of the detached guesthouses, so we weren’t as involved in the house functions, but whenever we had a question or a request, Trish and Diane couldn’t do enough for us. At breakfast, the large, welcoming dining table, with the huge wall of window looking out onto Fox Glacier, was busy with guests from all over the world. It was fun to chat with them and with Trish and Diane, who joined us for a lovely breakfast. We would definitely stay at Ropatini’s if we have the opporturnity to return to New Zealand.

We did no research before stopping in Fox Glacier and simply went to the place that had a vacancy sign, but we got lucky when we found this place. Ropatini's is a homestay and we literally just stayed in one of the rooms of what obviously used to be just their house. However, the bed was king-sized and great, the bathroom nice and clean and recently remodeled and we were happy to stay for the night. It turned out to be the cheapest place we stayed in New Zealand and one of the best. Trish sticks around for breakfast with everybody staying at the B&B and gives out great advice. We only stayed a night but should have stayed one more to do all the things around Fox Glacier.

Thank you Trish and Diane,
You truly made our stay unforgettable. My shoes had given up by the time i arrived and I was about to miss out the great walks until Diane lent me her very own, newly purchased hiking boots!! Talk about going the extra mile. The room was perfect and we were also offered home made muffins when we came back to chill out in the living room to wait for the weather to blow over. We hope one day to return to Fox Glacier and to stay with you guys. Thank you.

We stayed two nights here with Trish, Collin and Diane. One of the highlights of our stay. We had wine when we arrived, a wonderful dinner and travel sharing -- half the dinner from Trish's garden! Diane put roses in our room "just because". Breakfast included freshly made bread and jam -- and rhubarb sauce (from Trish's garden). Plus, great recommendations for what to do and how to do it. This was a very special stay! (No business center -- HA -- but they let us use the computer for our emails to family.)
