Owner description: Our Marlborough winery and tasting room are nestled in amongst our vineyards in the heart of Sauvignon Blanc country just outside of the town of Renwick. At the entrance to Forrest wines stands a prominent stone wall built of the very stones that come from the surrounding area of the Wairau Valley. Beyond the wall the drive way winds through our oldest Sauvignon Blanc vineyard, over the small stone bridge and into a beautiful park setting, with willow trees and a duck pond, picnic tables, badminton, tennis and patenque. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, with toys for children of all ages. You may even catch a glimpse of Frankie the family Border Collie, she is so welcoming. The tasting room has a casual kiwi feel with couches, bean bags and outdoor furniture. A large variety of wines is on offer, a chance to taste a couple of your favourites or be adventurous and try a tasting tray with your choice of six wines. We pride ourselves on providing informative discussions about our wines, winemaking and our region. A selection of picnic nibbles is available for light lunches with cheeses, antipasto, smoked mussels and more. Please ask the cellar door staff.Wine tours of the vineyard and winery are available by appointment.Open 7 days 10am-4.30pm2011 Holidays - Closed on these dates below: New Year's Day 1st JanuaryGood Friday 22nd AprilMarlborough Anniversary Day 31st OctoberChristmas Day 25th DecemberBoxing Day 26th DecemberMarlborough has one of the world’s greatest wine trails: fabulous wine, breathtaking scenery, a warm climate and relaxed people clustered in one small grape growing region (approximately 14 x 7 kilometres). “Great wines in lovely location”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

beautiful location, expansive lawn with a stream and trees all around. Good deal with 6 wines for tasting at 7$, sitting either indoors or outside. The wines were all delicious, and we couldn't resist buying two...

“Great tasting”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

We arrived early one morning, and were enthusiastically greeted. We chose the $10.00 tasting, 6 wines with crackers and water. We were given indepth written descriptions of each wine, they were great to read as we tasted the different wines. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the grounds and the beautiful day. We purchase 3 bottles of wine to enjoy on our trip. Definitely worth a stop.

“Nice wine stop”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

A very novel way to have a wine sampling session - you pay $10 I think and get to choose 6 wines from a list - generous pourings - water and crackers to refresh the palette as you work your way around the numbered glasses. Very lovely surroundings and a very knowledgeable (and I suspect the owner) host - Will go back there again. - Must see!

“Late wine tour”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

Lovely cellar door and the chowder was wonderful on a slightly chilly day! We cycled there a little late in the day but still enjoyed the cellar door service.
