“Best little pub in Marlborough!?”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

Warm, cosy, friendly, great open fire and the best chips around. Love watching the All Blacks on the (not too big) screen there with a good bunch of friends. Good steak, Larry's fish pie and nachos.

“Not very English”
Reviewed April 1, 2012

Nice atmosphere. Promoted as an 'Olde English Pub', but is not very authentic for an English person! More like what a New Zealander thinks an English pub might be like! Nevertheless, good service and nice environment.

“Amazing pub to have a drink...but not the food”
Reviewed March 17, 2012

This pub is a great litlle place, so much character and also a great beer garden.
The food however is not that special. We found the food to be very bland, it tasted like it had been just cooked from frozen.
This is a really lovely pub to drink in...if they maybe made a smaller fresh food menu it would work better for them.

“the most english looking pub I've seen in NZ so far”
Reviewed February 23, 2012

This place isn't anything too special but if you have forgotten what an English pub looks like, or you are staying in Renwick and fancy a drink then it's worth dropping in for a quick half.
