although the park is still developing it has beautiful beaches and numerous birds. There are plenty of walking tracks and spot at which to swim.

An amazingly beautiful piece of NZ. With an exciting windy drive through some pretty bush, this area has much to offer on arrival - clear seas with moderate sided waves, perfect for body-surfing. Lie on the hot sand in one of the many bays and go for walks around the rocks and enjoy paddling into rock pools up to 7ft deep that are as clear as glass. Utterly magical!

Great camping area because there is a limit on the number of campers so never too crowded. Lovely beaches.

Anchor Bay is a beautiful little cove with great kids beach and caves to explore. A simply stunning and very special part of the world.

er the picture is not of Tawharanui but is Waitakere regional park! not to worry they are both great destinations for different reasons, both need you own transport though. Waitakere is full of walks in the bush long and short and good place to see Kauri trees, or go for a tram ride. it also has the great wild west beaches with big dangerous surf!
Tawharanui has a great wee beach and gentle surf great for kids and learners, nice walks too, worth the effort to go on a sunny day.
