Stayed here in studio for one night on our way north. Owner, Paul, most helpful in giving us an itinerary for an afternoon on the Peninsula, and lent us a spade to dig for the hot pools on Hot Springs Beach. Units are not over spacious and a "large" person might have difficulty manoeuvring in the shower room. However, all very clean and well presented. A good night's rest was had in a tranquil location.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review.
So pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us.
Our studio units are our cheapest and smallest units and are ideal for 1 or 2 nights.
For longer stays we recommend taking one of our chalets which are twice as big.
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday.

cheers,
Paul & Natasha

We a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers stayed here for one night in feb 2013. I can not praise it enough. The motel was spotless, room bright and nicely decorated. A lovely decking out the back and all amenities supplied. Free kayaks available. The host Paul gave us a shovel and towels to visit hot water beach AFTER we had checked out. What about that for service. This is the spot in Tairua. It definately will be mine if i am back here again.

We were welcomed by the owners and enjoyed two nights in the great front family cabin/unit in January 2013. Plenty of room for us, two adults and our three almost adult kids in the two bedrooms. Loved the beachie blue walls, modern kitchenette and bathroom, and the kitchen chairs (yes) were SO comfortable! The private decking and chairs were a bonus, the garden lush and gorgeous, and the view was lovely. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. It's a very short walk to the beach and shops. We were very thankful for the advice of the owner regarding our planned visit to Cathedral Cove. He recommended going late afternoon after the crowds and tour buses and he was right. Best time to go. We practically had the idyllic cove to ourselves. He also lent us shovels and suggested best time to go to Hot Water Beach...right again! Always take the advice of a local. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer! Thank you guys ;)

Room Tip: the cabin we had was at the front of the property and had a great view. Although it was on what I th...

We stayed for one night on a recent trip to the Coromandel. The motel room was cosy, comfortable, well equiped and the owner friendly and helpful.

A small area for improvement would be to either have the option to turn off the lights outside the room, or have thicker curtains. We found our room quite light due to this and made it little harder to get to sleep. (I appologise if there was a switch somewhere that I missed!)

However, that said, I would most certainly stay there again as its a great motel in a great location

Hi Susan, Thank you so much for your kind comments and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Our insurers insist on our outside lights staying on for health and safety reasons at night. We have installed low wattage bulbs and will look into blackout curtains too.

Helpful owners who provided us with some good information re the local sights and provided us with extra towels and a shovel for 'Hot Water Beach'

The accomodation decor and facilities could perhaps do with refreshing but overall not a bad place to hold up for a couple of days whilst seeing some of the local attractions

Room Tip: A Good Stopping Off Point

Hi David,
Many thanks for taking the time to leave us your comments. Sorry that the weather wasn't too kind to you during your stay on the Coromandel.
All our units including the one your stayed in have been totally refurbished in the last few years and the one you occupied will be refreshed again this winter.

Stayed here whilst showing my dad around New Zealand on his first trip here originally booked for 1 night but extended to 2 because we enjoyed it so much. Paul and Natasha were fab hosts and went out of there way to make us feel at home. Deluxe family room was great and easily fit 3 adults & 2 children. The town itself was lovely and has everything you could need. Overall a great place to stay.
