From the carpark the views are already stunning. A 45 min stroll down takes you to Cathedral Cove. Be sure to be there before its high tide, otherwise you might not be able to walk through the cove with dry feet. also, make sure you visit mantaray bay, its a 5 min detour and really worth it. Also great if you want some more privacy, since it isn't as crowded as the cove itself

What's not to like? Gorgeous views of the beach with beautiful rock formations. It's even more enjoyable when you have to hike to get there.

Brilliant, bit of a walk, take some water with you, always large crowd there but it is unique, so it is on of those "must see..."

Cathedral Cove is jsut over an hours walk from Hahei. It has 2 beaches which are seperated by the cove during high tide.
We did not snorkel as the water was a little rough on the day we visited but a guy was theer with equipment to hire if you do not have your own.

Vast Expense of sheltered sandy beach with a great view. Takes 30-45 minutes to walk from the carpark to the beach/Cove so not suitable for the elderly and include some undulating slopes but worth the effort. Be really early if you want to drive up to the cove carpark, but we parked out car in the public park and ride carpark and took the shuttle. Cost $3 return.
