This is such a great place. We saw a lot of wildlife and even though you have to get up early each day it is so worth it. The guides were very knowledgeable, helpful and skilled and calling the animals out. The room and restaurant service were excellent. Special kudos to Edison the bartender who made the best pisco sours I had on our entire trip -- even better than the Peruvian ones. We saw 4 different kinds of monkey, two and three toed sloths, wild pig, all kinds of birds including a tucan, caiman, tiny poison dart frog, all kinds of insects. So wonderful! The sounds at night are incredible. There were monkeys outside the window in the trees. They great you each time you come back from an excursion with refreshing fruit drinks, everything is carried in and out but the food is amazingly fresh. I also really loved going to the village to see some dancing and try their fermented drink they have every day. There is such integrity in these native people who share their land with us and respect and conserve all the wildlife and nature around them. It was really a blessing to visit this place.

Room Tip: They are all nice huts; can't really go wrong.

This was just a fantastic trip. We saw all kinds of monkeys, parrots, toucans, the giant river otter, cayman, and all sorts of other wildlife with our brilliant local guide Remi, a comfy bed and delicious meals cooked every day, it's the ultimate escape from it all!
The best thing was how it's all been built and is run by the local community, sustainably and in harmony with nature (and a far better use of land for them to make money through eco-tourism rather than through deforestation with oil companies which is the sad reality of other areas).
The lodge, staff, food, bird watching tower, boats, schedule, facilities, guides, everything was all to our liking!
Like many travellers we did this trip before going to The Galapagos, before booking we weren't sure if it would be too much in one trip or whether one would pale in comparison to the other but they were so very different it was definitely worth doing both.
You definitely need some good binoculars when you go to experience the wildlife at its best.
Thanks so much to the community for looking after us and I hope the lodge thrives for generations to come!

Room Tip: We had a basic cabin and this was perfect for us for 3 nights. Some of the higher grade cabins are on the water's edge and you can watch monkeys playing in the trees from there (which is great fun to see!) but together with the local 'stinky turkeys' they can be a bit noisy in that spot so be warned if you're a light sleeper!

We booked this small getaway for 4 days 3 nights. The hotel resort is located deep in the Amazon jungles of Ecuador. The accommodations are extremely comfortable with a large ceiling fan. There was no AC, however, the weather was Great. The resort staff is all male. We never saw female staff on the premises, however, the staff were amazing meeting all of our needs and expectations making us very comfortable. Meals were outstanding and different everyday, typical Ecuadorian meals. Our 16 year old who prefers hamburgers did not have a problem eating the meals. The management, guides and the entire staff were truly amazing. We were very impressed. Very eco friendly. Solar panels and rain water retention systems in place. Excellent wifi. Very modern and green.

Amazing experience at the Napo Ecolodge. Went here for our honeymoon on a 4 day 3 night stay and we were blown away by the 4 star accommodations and the remoteness of the lodge. We had our own cabana-like hut (#11) that was super cool with lake views and its own hammock on the balcony. Wildlife was everything we hoped for including Caimans(minimal mosquitos and bugs too!) and the guides were very friendly and informative finding animals left and right for us. Food was delicious and the daily excursions never disappointed, canoe rides daily were super relaxing and exciting at the same time. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great amazon adventure in a lavish all inclusive lodge. Pina coladas were also delicious!

Room Tip: Cabana 11 has great lake views

We stayed for 4 nights, the shortest available. We were in Casita 16, at the end of the walkway. This place in the jungle is so unique, and the good parts so good, you will gladly forgive its few shortcomings. Guides were good, food was good, excursions were good, rooms were good, wildlife is abundant, a genuine experience unlike anything most folks from the US would have ever experienced, unless you grew up on a Louisiana bayou, and even then it's not the same. They keep you busy, well fed, everything's been well thought out. We were there in the "dry" season and it rained maybe 6 to 10 inches during our stay. Geared up with ponchos and boots provided by the lodge, sure you get wet, but, actually, you don't care. We saw caimans, anaconda, forest deer, birds of all manner, howler monkeys, tamarinds, giant spiders, leafcutter ants, centipedes, tiny frogs, bullet ants, and jungle plant life extraordinaire. Just laying in bed falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle was an adventure. We never got bitten by bugs, never got a mosquito bite. The native guides are personable and you openly experience their way of life and culture. We would go back in a heartbeat. We've been all over the world pretty much, and this was one of the very best places we've been.
