I walked in because the place looks really welcoming and cozy, soft music, couches to relax in, magazines... The athmosphere and service is relaxed and friendly.
There is a huge open window at the back, where you can sit and admire the cloud forest and the humming birds feeding right at that very spot. You can hear the river running right by the backyard.
It turns out the place has a great coffee, the best I've had in Ecuador so far.
They had a choice of cakes (brownies, carrot cake) and also homemade bread, jam and granola, either to have there or to take away. The owner produces his own honey, very good with bread and butter!
Foodwise they have daily specials, I tried some german marinated meat -shashlik I think. Very good with a cool beer.
They also have handicrafts for sale: alpaca wool, precious wood artifacts, books, puzzles, all on the natural crafts and materials theme, good for original gifts I think.
I recommend the place: it has charm, excellent quality food for a decent price, and is a good place to relax and enjoy your meal - the only one in Mindo!
