Overall we had a very good stay room was spacious and beds where confortable. Provided an average gym and pool, with a staff that was willing to help. Availability of US compatible plugs was a very big plus.
Very well located, really close to main beach and nightlife.
What could improve:
- One of the advertised things is the "international quality". Only 2 members of the staff spoke some english.
- No safe on the room. For some reason safes are there but the locking system was removed and they confirmed no room has a working safe. This is a big negative aspect, a basic thing specially for a hotel providing corporate accommodation is an in-room (laptop computer size) safe.
- Pool was ok, but related stuff like chairs and such where not enough when there was 10+ people.
- We spent carnival weekend there and we had the awful idea to have breakfast at 9 instead usual 7-8am. It was simply chaos. People all around, taking whatever corner they could find, pushing each-other for a seat. I actually saw some guy stealing a chair when someone got up to get some more food. Staff was completely overrun and was a very bad experience.
Besides this little aspects mentioned, Its a very nice hotel. I would probably choose it again to visit Macae.More
