My daughter and I met at this Denny's for a late breakfast on Sunday, jan 19, 2014. The restaurant was very understaffed and harried. The manager was openly rude to the staff but that's not the worst thing that happened. When our food finally arrived (well part of it anyway), my daughter's scrambled eggs had runny yolk running all over her plate. The manager was nearby so we motioned for him to come to the table. She very politely voiced her displeasure with the undercooked eggs. Instead of offering to re-cook them, he stated that that is how scrambled eggs were cooked. She told him that they were undercooked and unsafe to eat. He gave her a blank stare and said she should have ordered them cooked hard. At this point, she had had enough and said if that was considered safe then she didn't care to dine there and told him she wouldn't pay for unsafe food and asked for his boss's contact information. He pulled out his cell phone and called the police because she refused to pay for her bill. At this point, tired of the whole scene and mortified, I said I would pay for it because I just wanted to leave. He refused to bring a bill.... Said we would have to wait for the police. We were stuck. If we left, we would have been thieves. After I pleaded with him several times, he allowed me to pay for the meal ... And overcharged me to boot! As I walked out, a police officer drove up. I explained to her what had happened, she said we were free to go and that she was going to go have a talk with the manager. I have contacted the corporate office regarding the incident and I'm still waiting to hear back from the restaurant owner.
