“Off The Bone short ends were off the hook!”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

My last night in Dallas I drove down to Off The Bone BBQ in Forrest Hill. I read about it in a Dallas Magazine article written where it was ranked the #1 BBQ joint in the Dallas/Fort Worth area by the author of the Full Customer Gospel BBQ. I drove around back to check out their smoking operation and it looked like they were using pecan and oak. The smell was amazing! My sampler platter included short ends, spicy links and brisket with mac and cheese and cole slaw on the side. The short ends were amazing! Great moist smoky flavor under the bark and look at the smoke ring. The spicy links were very good as was the brisket. The brisket didn't have bark but was very flavorful and perfectly trimmed. Highly recommended.

“Fantastic BBQ!”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

I had ribs here. They were excellent! Tender, good flavor, not messy with sauce. It is a Mom & Pop place, not fancy, but great food!.

“Excellent B-B-Q”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

I've lived 8 miles from this place for 11 years. Passed within half mile of it more than 1,000 times. Really. Finally drove down a road I never drive down and saw this place PACKED OUT on a Saturday afternoon. It's fantastic. Love Spring Creek on South Cooper in Arlington. Hate to say it, but I've got a new favorite. Ladies up front are a delight. Food is fantastic. I highly recommend the Horseshoe. Bar B Q stuffed backed potato with three ribs...in the shape of a horseshoe around the potato. Outstanding!
It's a converted Dariy Queen, so don't think you're going here for the lovely western ambiance. Surroundings aren't bad, but it's not the Cattle Yards. But it is delicious.

“Great Bar-B-Q”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

I have lived in Fort Worth for 35 years. I always thought that the best bar-b-q in town would be found at The Railhead or Angelo's. I was wrong. I recently had my first visit to Off the Bone and it far better than either Railhead or Angelo's. The ribs were meaty and perfectly smoked. The sauce was perfect to go with them. The sides are first rate. Sadly at Railhead and Angelo's it seems the sides are an afterthought. The surroundings at Off the Bone are not fancy. It is a converted Dairy Queen, But, if you are interested in first rate bar-b-q in Fort Worth, this is the place to go.

“Read some reviews. They are all true”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

Drove all they way across Dallas metro to try this place out. Worth the 70 minutes in traffic at rush hour! pork ribs were smoky and yummy. The brisket was also quite amazing. A little drier than my preference but indeed worth it. Potato salad was also excellent. The owner came over and made sure things were going well. Definitely a family run type of place. The kind you can feel good about supporting. A hard working group of people doing a great job. The location is an old Dairy Queen. So don't go expecting cloth napkins and tuxedoed maitre'd. It is the definition of out of the way, hole in the wall great food place. Next time I'm in Dallas I'll make the trek over there.
