“Nice venue, excellent acoustics”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

This theater was built in the 1920's, but well preserved and has a lot of character. We just saw the Silk Road Ensemble, which is highly recommended. 12 highly-accomplished musicians play a blend of world, classical and Jazz music on some familiar and not so familiar instruments We were fortunate enough to be in the sixth row, but even at the back, the theater is small enough to still get a good sight line to the performers without binoculars. The acoustics were fantastic. You could hear ever instrument, every bell, even single notes with clarity. The seating is a bit tight, not much leg-room. But overall, the theater is wide, with high ceilings so you don't feel claustrophobic. Easy and convenient parking too.

“Great setting for touring shows”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

Classical "opera house" style theater on a side street near the ferry, with convenient garage parking. We have been to several shows, both musical and dramatic, and the venue has always been appropriate and comfortable. The staff behind this non-profit arts organization cares deeply for the theater, the audience, and the artists, and that concern shows in the quality of the shows scheduled.
