had to go to my daughter's high school graduation and this is a good choice for Tabor Academy parents as it is not too expensive and you get breakfast with the room. A good budget choice for a business traveler as well, If you need a clean generic hotel this is it. I stay at 200 hotel nights per year from basic to luxury and this is a good basic choice

Room Tip: ask for the new building

Staff was very friendly in this Fairfield Inn. Location allowed you to walk to the Whaling museum and the Pier and the Aquarium. Parking was free at the hotel. Breakfast was included, and they had the usual scrambled eggs, caandian bacon, toast, muffins, hard boiled eggs, waffles. Good breakfast with plenty of choices.

Now for the room--beds were double--not queen. In this day and age, they really should have queen, especially since the room was large enough to hold the queens. The mattresses were rather too soft, and I got all stuffed up from the room/pillows. I did request a feather free room, so I'm not sure what happened.

TV had very few channels, but included HBO. Tv didn't work properly. Halls were warm, as if air conditioning wasn't working properly.

Overall, because of the loacation, free parking and great breakfast, I would recommend this hotel. The only thing is that for the high price you pay, you should have better mattresses/pillows, and larger queen-size beds. That's why I gave it three stars.

Definitely walk to Destination Soups for a great sandwich and soup!!

Hello 4okay,
It is great to see that you enjoyed all that the hotel has to offer with our breakfast buffet, indoor pool and great location in downtown New Bedford. Nice to see that you had a great lunch at Destination Soups too! We appreciate you taking the time to let us know how you feel about the bed sizes, every hotel is different and we make sure to always clarify when making reservations that we unfortunately do not have queen size beds here. We do hope that this does not stop you from choosing us again when back in our area. Always something new t o visit in New England!
Thank you.

This is a good base for looking around New Bedford and the waterfront there. Go there if you want to do this, but not if you are looking for a hotel experience.
The room was comfortable, well equipped and well resourced. There is free breakfast, which is a bonus. There is a small pool and a gym.
Good place for an overnight stay and easy striking distance for Boston and the airport.
Nothing to fault this hotel; recommended as above.
Ask for an upper floor for more peaceful sleep.

Room Tip: Ask for upper floors for less traffic noise.

Dear KingKongScotland,
We love that we are located right on the working waterfront in downtown New Bedford. Very nice to see that you enjoyed visiting all downtown has to offer, as well as being comfortable with all our hotel has too; indoor pool, fitness center, our yummy hot breakfast and our free internet.
And you are right we are an easy drive to Boston airport and also Providence airport too. We do hope that you think of us next time you are visiting the New England area and choose to stay with us again.
Thank you.

We stay at the Fairfield Inn when we come home for family visits. This hotel is very comfortable and staff is quite helpful. We needed help with my mom this trip and one of the front desk staff jumped right in to help. Thank you!

Great facility - typically clean, modern, and well-appointed. Outstanding location between the wharf and downtown - minutes walk to the downtown attractions. Good quality free breakfast with eggs, one meat, bagels/pastries, waffles, fresh fruit, etc. every day. Great staff, including their ability to guide tourists on itinerary. Nice pool and adequate fitness center. Coffee, tea, and lemon water all day in the lobby. Good for business travelers and tourists.

Room Tip: Harbor view room if you can get it.
