Other than the front desk clerk and concierge, whose attitude appeared "forced fake nice and pleasant" and made us feel as if we were annoying them simply by being there, the stay here was very pleasant. As honeymooners, the treatment was excellent and the room was first class. The pool atmosphere was nice, as was the beach. The staff overall were very friendly, but I would venture to either Nick's inside the hotel (but not part of the hotel) or outside for food - everything on site otherwise was overpriced.

Aloha! It’s wonderful to hear that you had an overall enjoyable stay with us and found the accommodations first class. However, it’s very disconcerting to learn you did not experience the excellent genuine service for which we are known from a few of our staff members. We appreciate your feedback and please be assured your comments will be shared with the key department. Thank you again and congratulations on your marriage!

We stayed at the Lea Lani for 10 nights at the end of July, beginning of August. It was our 4th stay there although the first time with our kids. As always we stayed in a deluxe ocean room how we lucked into one of the corner rooms with the wrap around balconies and wrap around views, I don't know, but I'm not complaining. The suite set-up worked fabulously with the kids, 2 boys 8 and 12. As always the service was warm and efficient. We love staying here, it's luxurious yet approachable and manageable. Not so. It and expansive you get lost. We utilized the pool and beach areas almost every day. The breakfast buffet kept us going till dinner and was fresh and delicious. I wish we could come every year.

My husband and I just stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani for 6 nights 7 days in celebration of our honeymoon. We overall enjoyed this hotel very much, some areas were lacking, but overall a nice stay. Concierge and Reservations were helpful, upon check in we received our floral leis and juice which was a nice touch. We were upgraded to a partial ocean view in the already renovated section of the hotel. However, even in the renovated sections of the hotel, you WILL hear construction going on above you or below you throughout the day. We even heard construction going on while trying to enjoy the adult-only pool. We were aware that renovations would be going on at the Spa, but didn't realize it would be going on throughout the entire resort. Be aware of this if you want peace and quiet, it didn't bother us much as we spent a significant amount of time off property or at the beach.

Dining on Property- AMAZING! We dined at both Ko & Nick's Fish Market and loved them both. Waitstaff were extremely knowledgable and nice, we ended up ordering the Oishi sushi roll at Ko every single day for HH after our dining experience the first night. Cocktails are unbelievable. The candied fruit that they make in house was so enjoyable! I definitely recommend dining at both for dinner.

Breakfast buffet- Overrated for sure. For $35/pp this was a rip off. Sure they had an omelet station, some locks and creme cheese, pancakes, etc., but it was nothing spectacular. If you are going to eat breakfast I would order off menu next time. Also, BEWARE of the "bloody bar" they have sitting out. There was no prices indicated that it wasn't included in the $35/pp price. We went up there and started making our own (no alcohol was sitting out) and figured we could help ourselves to the tomato juice....they charged us $12/per "virgin" drink, and our waitress said nothing to us about how we had to pay for the tomato juice. FAIL. They will definitely nickel and dime you where they can.

Waitstaff by the pool- Absolute FAIL. This is where this resort paled in comparison to its competition i.e The four Seasons. We couldn't get a drink by the Adult only pool, ever. The waitresses were extremely rude and not friendly, one waitress in particular passed us THREE times without even stopping to ask if we needed anything. I wish we would have gotten her name as everyday she had a huge scowl on her face and acted as though she wished she could be anywhere but there. Horrid service. We never saw more than 1 or 2 waitresses on staff for the entire pool, and keep in mind the adult pool is at capacity every day. We did feel as though we were not being treated as well as the older couples around us--this is definitely something management should discuss with employees. Obviously if you are throwing out that kind of coin to stay at a place like the Fairmont, you should be treated no different than a couple in their sixties. We never felt like this when visiting the Four Seasons next door. In fact, the waitstaff there was so great at the lobby bar for cocktails, we ended up dining at Ferraro's and had an unbelievable dinner night. Highly recommend going to the Four Seasons for drinks/live music and dinner.

Suite- Very spacious, comfy bed, wonderful food received when we ordered in from room service. Very thorough housekeeping, did a wonderful job cleaning and turn down service. We received a welcome trio of cupcakes for honeymoon, very nice touch. We did have to call for room slippers, they were not provided in the room which I thought was odd for a hotel of this scale.

Self parking- rate went up to $20/night instead of the $15/night previously stated online; very easy access to self parking, close to entrance of hotel.

Overall a very nice place to stay, love the location in Wailea, the free shuttle at night was a plus. Will come back for sure, but will be staying next door at the Four Seasons Wailea.

Room Tip: Definitely call ahead for a room in the renovated side of the hotel. If you get a garden room, you w...

We stayed in an Ocean View room in the far corner of the south building. Great location. Even though there's some remodeling going on, we never heard or noticed the work being done. As a matter of fact, we never heard another guest. Also, we've stayed in many other properties in the Wailea area, and this staff is by far the nicest and most helpful group. There's no attitude and everyone has a smile. The suites are very large and well decorated and very comfortable.

What a beautiful hotel. My wife and I went to Maui for our honeymoon and spent 5 days at this beautiful resort. We had an ocean view deluxe sweet that was huge and awesome. When you walk into the main, open air lobby, the beauty hits you right away. The staff were so friendly and put us 1st. They were very knowledgeable about the hotel grounds but they had many answers of where to go to eat outside the resort. We were able to go to some great local places as a result. But the restaurants at the hotel were also very good. For breakfast we had the buffet which was absolutely fantastic. Everything was great and had a lot of variety. The coffee, now I'm not a big coffee drinker, was out of this world.
The pools were great, clean, and the slide was a lot of fun. There were plenty of patio chairs around the pools and plenty of sun. The beach was incredible and clean. They offered towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas. On top of everything there was free sunblock at every towel station and it was high quality. We did the out rigger canoe trip (make sure you book in advance as this fills up quickly and is free) which is a must to do. Our canoe leader was so cool and made everything relaxing. We ended up doing impromptu snorkeling off the canoe as they had masks for us. We saw turtles and fish and it encouraged me to go scuba diving the day after. The scuba instructor, "Scuba Pete" as he called himself, was very cool and made the dive easy. I lost my scuba certification and Scuba Pete got my information and was able to uncover my PADI number so he really went above and beyond from a customer service perspective. But he also was laid back and friendly. I went with people that never dove before and he gave an excellent beginner class training on Scuba and a great refresher course for me. I would totally recommend the scuba dive as the beach at the Fairmont has beautiful coral reefs that are about 15 feet away from where the waves break. We saw a few turtles, striped fish, yellow fish, and all were so close to the beach. Scuba Pete saw that I had an underwater camera and right away offered to take pictures of me on the dive. He got a great 1 of me and a turtle.
This hotel was absolutely wonderful and the grounds were beautiful. Very clean and we would highly recommend.

Room Tip: If you are traveling with another couple or a few friends you should do a villa. The villas are like...

My wife and I just returned from celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and couldn't have been happier with our stay. From the time we arrived the staff was extremely friendly and professional. We definitely felt the "Aloha" spirit.
Our deluxe ocean view room suite on the 6th floor was amazing with its unobstructed views. The sunset views were amazing! Our morning's and evenings were spent on the large deck which was a wonderful way to start and end our days. Being able to open the sliding doors in the living room and bedroom to enjoy the sound of crashing waves and the ocean breeze was extremely relaxing.
Some noise from the pools below when kids were playing but nothing to take away from our stay. Actually had us thinking of the fun our family and grand kids would have here.
The open air lobby and Luana Lounge were wonderful areas to sit, have drinks and take in the ocean views. The beach area was very nice with the complimentary towels, lounge chairs and umbrellas. Very Relaxing!
The living room, bedroom and bathroom were sizable, comfortable and very clean. Housekeeping was on top of everything throughout our stay. The evening turn down service was a nice feature.
Everyone at the concierge desk was extremely friendly and helpful in scheduling our activities. Even when we had a couple of hiccups they were resolved quickly with no issues which was greatly appreciated. Even though it's early, the 6am canoeing was a great way to see the sunrise.
Great recommendation!
The hotel restaurants were very enjoyable from breakfast at the Kea Lani restaurant to dinner at Ko's.The servers were always friendly and attentive. The in suite dining was also enjoyable. Great way to enjoy a good meal with wonderful views.
The nearby local restaurants and shopping at the Wailea shops were nice outings when we felt like leaving the hotel, which wasn't very often. The drive from the hotel to the West side of the island to see Lahaina, Kaanapali and Kapalua was an easy and fun drive.
Overall a great experience for our 35th anniversary. Look forward to coming back with the rest of our family.
"Mahalo" Fairmont and staff for a memorable anniversary!

Upon arriving at the Kea Lani, we were greeted with lei's, smiles, and some really good local fruit juice stuff (I think it was guava, passionfruit, orange or something). Beautiful entrance and even more beautiful and well maintained grounds. The rooms were very nice and clean, I got a deluxe ocean view suite. The room well maintained, comfy bed, clean coffee pot (very important to a coffee addict like me, very disappointed they served Green Mountain's Vermont Country blend coffee and not Kona or Kauai coffee) The beach was very nice and swimmable the days we were there. I loved how I could see Molokini Crater from my lanai, and while swimming in the ocean. The lobby bar was great and the bartender very knowledgeable and nice. The valets always greeted us with a smile and the roof down on the car. The business area was nicely equipped and computers new and up to date. Our flight did not leave till 11.30 the evening we checked out and they offered us the hospitality suite and to store our bags while we ventured out for our last day. We stayed from Sept 27th till Oct. 1st, 2013.
