“Excellent Hotel, Fabulous Views, Wonderful Service, Great Food”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

We couldn't ask for a better vacation!!! We spent our 20th Wedding anniversary trip at the Fairmont. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa just steps away from the beach. We could see whales breaching right from our room! The villa was state-of-the-art with all amenities. The bathrooms were large with 2 sinks and a separate large bathtub. We had cleaning in the morning, then an additional clean up with turn down service in the evening. The patio was lovely with a great view. Very relaxing. The spa services were excellent and the spa was very nice/tranquil. All the staff throughout the hotel was very courteous, helpful and friendly. We ate at 2 of the restaurants and enjoyed Mai Tai's in a whole Pineapple!!!! What fun!!!! The food was great! Service was phenomenal. The pools were lovely. The slide was a blast. There were some families but it was not overrun with children (we left our 4 kids at home!). It was a perfect mix of business people, leisure adults and families. We would also feel completely comfortable bringing our children there. There is also an specialty food market on site that we really enjoyed. Wailea is a wonderful part of Maui. It is very nice, clean, great beach, upscale shopping etc. Our whole experience was perfect! We can not wait to return.

We have been to this hotel about a dozen times. It's hospitality is 100%, cleanliness impeccable and the scenery is exquisite. Not so fond of food so usually walk along the path to other restauarants leading to the Maui Shopping Complex

Room Tip: Always try to book on the top of the hotel where the best rooms and views are or at the private caba...

Since we are a family of 4, this all suite hotel was perfect! We loved the rooms and big bathrooms. The children enjoyed the sofa bed in the living area. The adults enjoyed the privacy of their own room.

Since there was renovation occurring, there wasn't a fee to reserve certain seating by the pool. There is a small kiddie pool, larger pool, hot tubs, and a fun waterslide.

We enjoyed the small market for sandwiches, snacks, and wine.

The only annoying thing was many small birds during breakfast every day!

Aloha, and thank you for your review. We’re so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us last fall. We often have families visit, but it is wonderful to hear that your family of four was so comfortable in the one-bedroom suite. We do realize that the birds at breakfast are a nuisance and apologize for the inconvenience. Best wishes and we hope to welcome you back again soon!

I normally rent a condo when I go to Hawaii on my annual trip, now I remember why. I booked a "Run of the Ocean" room so we could watch whales during our one week on Maui. When I got there I was given a parking lot view. After much dicussion I was transfered, the next day, to a better view. I had called a week in advance and talked with the reservation team to confirm our room type.I had a condo lined up but I was assured that I would get an ocean view. For the mix up I was given a comp buffet breakfast the next morning. Save your money if you are buying this buffet, $35 is a little steep for "so so" food. With tip money in hand I headed to the beach facilities a few days later. I made eye contact with the attendant and pointed to a chaise. He turned and walked away. I proceeded to pull the chaise off the stack. As I did the wind caught it and it smashed into my face. Of course Security was great at getting to help me stop the bleeding and put on a bandade. I still have a black eye. I did receive a phone call from the pool assistant manager to see if I needed any further medical supplies. At least I didn't get the comp buffet again. Although, a comp night would have been nice since we had to look out over a parking lot the first night.
That said, the staff was kind throughout my week stay, though a little bit of training is still needed. The room was cleaned very well each day. The rooms I stayed in are in need of a complete renovation. The slippery smooth marble floors are a nice touch if you have rubber soles on your feet.
Really, if you are a tourist and don't expect much this is the place. If you want oppulance this isn't the place. The rates are twice what they should be.

Room Tip: Again, let me emphasize that calling ahead makes no difference where they will stick you. Hold firm...

Aloha and thank you for your review. We’re so sorry that you had such a negative experience at our resort. Both our reservation agents and our website aims to be very clear in the descriptions of each category/view. We truly apologize if you felt misled. We’re also sorry about your injury at the beach. Our guest’s safety is our number one priority and you should never have had to pull down a lounge chair on your own. It is our goal to offer a luxury experience and we are sorry you didn’t feel it was such. Best wishes and thank you again for your feedback.

This resort property is to put is simply, perfect! From the time we checked in every staff member has been gracious and helpful. The property is nicely appointed with every amenity that you could ask for or need. The rooms are very large suites, with large balconies. So lots of room to spread out and relax. The bathroom is quite spacious, another nice perk to the property. This is a good resort for kids, with many things for them to see and do. But in case you were wondering, the rooms are very quiet, so even if you are a couple traveling sans kiddos, you still have a very peaceful place to stay. Overall I would highly recommend the Fairmont as the perfect place to stay on Maui. The beauty, sanctuary, and peacefulness in this place is truly beyond compare. I can't wait to begin planning our return trip.

Room Tip: The ocean view rooms are amazing. Sunsets are not to be missed.

We decided to take a weekend trip to Maui and stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani. This was our second time, as the first time we stayed here, our room wasn't the best - it overlooked the parking lot, but the people were nice and the location was great, so we thought we give it another try. This time it exceeded our expectations! Our room was ocean view, overlooking the pools, and close by the elevator. It was perfect! They also have Happy Hour at Ko Restaurant, which worked out for us, since we decided to hang around the hotel. Parking is free and there is no resort fee, which is a plus if you're on a budget. We'll definitely be back again!
