My family stayed at the Four Seasons for 5 days in July of 2010. We had high expectations after spending the previous 6 days at the Grand Hyatt in Kauai. The Four Seasons was by far the BEST hotel experience we've ever had. For example, at the Grand Hyatt they ask you for your name and room number at the breakfast buffet and poolside bars. At the Four Seasons they know your name and room number!!
We arrived at 10:00 a.m. We were given the key to a lush complimentary room to change for the beach and pool. When spent a wonderful day at the pool in a cabana at no charge. Free ice water, sun screen, magazines, Kindle, fruit on a stick, frozen treats, etc... The pool attendants were always there for your every want and need. The front desk called us on our cell phone to let us know our room was ready at 2:00 p.m.
There were treats for the kids, a bottle of wine for us, bottled water, ice service, and stuffed animals for the kids. We had a partial ocean view room. It was GRAND! The bathroom was spacious, the deck comfortable, the beds were extremely comfortable.
The nightly turn-down service was something to look forward to each and every night. Everyone knew us by name! Everyone went out of their way to please you. The valet guys were fun, helpful, and kind. They had printed directions laying our car each time we left. They even had a bag of jelly beans for us on the way to the airport.
The food was excellent, whether you were poolside, at the breakfast buffet or even at the bar for the nightly Hawaiian music and dancing. I miss the smoothie flavor of the day!
The hotel sits on a beautiful piece of property. The ocean was like a lake in the morning. We snorkeled with turtles each morning straight out from the beach. The snorkel equipment was complimentary as well! Then at about 1:00 p.m. the trade winds came up and the ocean turned into a body surfers dream. With our twin 10 year olds, it was the best of both worlds. Snorkeling and body surfing footsteps away from the pool. We also checked out the snorkel equipment and drove to Turtle Town twice while we were there. Turtle Town is 5 minutes away by car.
We loved Wailea! The hotel was so wonderful that we hated to leave the property. We went to Iao Needle and Lahania one day. We were going to do the road to Hana, but couldn't justify leaving paradise to spend 8 hours in the car. The next time we'll do Hana! This was our first time to Maui. We fell in love on day 1! The Four Seasons is perfect for couples young and old as well as families! We loved the FREE game room. We spent a few evenings playing ping pong, Wii, Playstation, etc... after going out to eat in Wailea.
We can't wait to go back to the Four Seasons! We were really torn between the Four Seasons and the Grand Wailea for our family. We walked over to the Grand Wailea and were SO glad we didn't stay there. Huge resort feel. Didn't look clean, smelled in different areas, not at all the paradise of the Four Seasons.
We went to the Four Seasons for our 20th anniversary. My husband and I already decided we will be back as soon as possible. Don't miss this experience!!
We love you Four Seasons!
