From the moment we stepped in and were greeted with Ginger Mint Lemonade we knew it was going to be great - and IT WAS! Very expensive, very indulgent and worth every penny. We really appreciate a nice hotel and room because we are not the type to be out and on the go all day. The rooms are spacious and all of the grounds are just beautiful. We went to the Luau at The Grand Wailea and had a blast (touristy and showy and corny and tasty - just what we wanted!).

Perfect location in Wailea. Gorgeous beach. Immaculate hotel and grounds. Entire staff was friendly, attentive, and showed a genuine interest in each guest. (Special thanks to Rowena, Lee, and John, among others.) We visited other resorts in Wailea and none of them compared to the Four Seasons. Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: We had a wonderful view of the ocean from our "partial ocean view." If you book that room...

The location of the resort is perfect! Gorgeous grounds, building and complete 4 Seasons customer service. From the moment you check in, the 4 Seasons experience is there until the second you check out. I came on a business trip w/o my family and will definitely be bringing them back with me as it is one of the nicest resorts I have come to. It's a splendid resort and wonderful experience.

Well, it's a Four Seasons, so we expected a great experience. Although we were not disappointed, it was slightly different than many other resorts on the island; the focus seemed to be more on the "Caesar's Palace" style of architecture more than tropical ambiance.

The service was great. From check-in, when we were welcomed with a drink and an escort to our room, to poolside, we were showered with attention -- almost too much at times.

On our first night, our flight was late and we arrived at the hotel later than expected. We freshened up and unpacked, and quickly headed to Ferarro's Restaurant, arriving a minute or two after 9. We waited as the hostess discussed a reservation with another guest, and then asked if we could still be seated, noting the posted 9 p.m. closing time. She said she would check with the chef, and she disappeared into the kitchen. After a few minutes' wait, another hostess emerged and we asked about our chances of being seated, mentioning that we had arrived only a minute or two late. We were surprised when she replied in a snippy voice, "No, it's TEN minutes past nine, but I'll see what I can do". We later decided that she maybe didn't know we had been waiting there for awhile. Anyway, we were seated, although she didn't seem very happy in doing so, and she told us we needed to order right away because the kitchen was going to close. We were happy to do so, and told our server, who assured us that we still had some time, but we had our order in well before others who had been seated before us. From that point on, the service was good and the food was delicious. That was our only negative experience.

Our room was classified as a "prime ocean view", but it was a side view over the courtyard to the water beyond. We noted that there were a few rooms that directly faced the ocean, but not many. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a huge bath done in Roman style.

Th walk from the room to the front lobby was a long one, about 5-7 minutes, because the resort's geography is more horizontial, not vertical. We would call valet parking before we left the room, and the car was usually waiting for us when we got to the front door. At first, the layout was a bit confusing, so study the provided map when you arrive.

The hotel is located a short drive, or even walking distance, from the Shops at Wailea, and there were about ten nicer shops in the hotel itself. There were also artists displaying their works, and we did buy a couple of items to hang on our wall.

The breakfasts were excellent, with both a la carte and buffet options available. The pool was relaxing, and the staff scrambled to bring us towels, water, and take our drink orders. The pool isn't a huge one like many of the resorts in Hawaii, and is more traditional, without lots of plantings, slides, connecting pools, etc. We really only walked onto the beach and didn't spend much time there, but staff seemed to be just as active in pleasing guests that wanted to be by the ocean.

All in all, it was a great place to relax, if a bit more formal in surroundings, and we almost hated to leave the hotel to drive into Lahaina or take one of the whale-watching excursions. If the luxurious, formal design and attentive staff is your thing, the FS is highly recommended.

Beautiful property, lovely staff. We'll be back. Incredible!!!! The room was very nice, staff was very attentive. Be sure to dine at the Italian Restaurant. We were lucky enough to sit near the ocean. The views and sunsets were breath taking.

Room Tip: We had a mountain view and enjoyed the privacy.

My wife and I recently stayed here during early December for our honeymoon and we were so impressed with our stay at the Four Seasons Maui in Wailea. Everything from the staff to the resort itself, we were blown away. It was a bit of a stretch for our budget but we are so happy we were able to pull it off and stay here. Its worth every penny! We truly hope to make a tradition to stay at the Four Seasons in Wailea every year. The staff and resort itself just made our honeymoon so memorable.

Everyone at the resort, especially the staff in and around the adult pool were outstanding and genuinely wanted to make our experience the best. We wish we had everyones name but from the lady that recommended we check out the karaoke bar called Sansei, to Kevin at the pool check in, to I believe his name was Eugene or Elijah who accommodated us in everything we needed, everyone was superb. Thank you all!!!

As to activities, the snorkeling was fantastic, even saw some sea turtles! The outrigger experience is a must. Rob I believe was the captain and was so amazing in making our experience memorable. We had originally planned on venturing in and around Maui but the Four Seasons property was so amazing and accommodating that we spent our entire time at the resort. We just left one night to go check out Mamas Fish house, which we're so happy we did. Supper yummy!

If you can stay here for your vacation, my wife and I definitely recommend it by far over any of the other resorts in Maui! Hope to come back again and again and hopefully with our kids in the future!

Room Tip: We stayed in the mountain view room, and even though we were offered an upgrade on the second day to...
